High monetary values are a crutch for play content and achievement. It is supposed to "feel" like a larger achievement because of the gold you spent, likewise the time it took you to gather it.
But why would I want to spend time to get gold just so that I can play my character properly? It's annoying.
With this strategly Blizzard is basically saying: Hey, we can't make a game with content that's interesting enough on its own, that's why we have to make you farm for everything.
I prefer the Guild Wars approach. Free infinite respec in any town and infinite specs can be saved on your hard disc.

Oh, it sucks, yes, which is why my main (80 Orc Hunter) is completely PvP spec'd (Bleeding Hollow - Ental). I purposely made him PvP because I love BG's. I have gotten into arena a little bit, but not nearly good enough to be rated anything good (like below 1200 rating). What I do with him now when I am not leveling up my druid is go to outlands and the starting Niorthrend Zones and get back at all those d-bags who decided it would be fun to corpse camp. Then after about 5 gankings, I leave.
Yes, it is me just doing the same thing that %^&*es me off, but in the end I feel better that I got revenge. LOL - it takes some patience to playa PvP server. My son is 13 and plays a Tauren DK on a PvP server and he gets really disappointed when he is just leveling about and gets corpse camped. I will usually jump in and help him either get out or win. The other day he corpse camped this other DK who ganked him once. I asked him what he was doing since he was giggling and the like and when he told me I just rolled my eyes and laughed.
Playing a PvP server takes a special person - lol.

Things like Epic flight training and dual spec are meant to be money sinks. Blizzard is trying to avoid a system where level 10s trying to level engineering find themselves paying 50g for a stack of copper ore because inflation's through the roof since level 80s have an insane income and hardly have to pay anything for anything.

I see alot of people saying they are dual-spec'd cat/bear, but honestly why not make a hybrid kitty/bear like me, main talents for bear and a couple that benefit kitty. Link is in my sig. Obviously I don't have all the dps points for kitty but I can still manage to pull like 3-4k dps on heroic bosses and with a 4100 gearscore in tank gear I can hold aggro on 5k dps enhancement shamans and 5k locks without much of a problem. Just gotta read the stickies and follow all the how-to's. That way you can have a tank/dps/heals or caster dps.
The main reason is making yourself either a main tank or a top dps spec, the only reason to bring in a hybrid is if your raid can take either the dps loss or does not have a suitable offtank that specialized in tanking. If you are only doing heroics than it doesn't matter, but in a raid it does.
I raid Tree with dual spec feral pvp. I can do decent dps with my pvp spec, but I am not close to what a full pve spec/glyph cat can do.

Leveling solo as resto is one of the worst experiences you can have in playing this game. I leveled from 1-70 as resto (as resto as I could be in the early talents 1-25 O.o). Luckily you'll have a hunter to level with to kill everything :D
On a side note, I went almost a calendar year without being killed while leveling and then grinding (on pve server). Even pulling 4-5 mobs. Throw on all my HoT's then go bear. Took me a long time to kill stuff in bear, but I was seriously unkillable by mobs xD.

agrees that they are in fact awesome. I'm thinking about lvln up a shammy to try to get that "new hybrid" feeling i had while lvlng my drude.
personally found lvlng balance was dull, but almost as fast as feral after outlands. (switched back and forth every few lvls)
