I use NECB for hot overview, not brilliant tho.

Healbot, available at patch.curse.com.
The beauty of Healbot is several things:
- it greys out targets out of range so you can easily tell who is close enough to heal. Good in spread out raid fights and awesome in battlegrounds.
- it shows who has poisons/curses with a super obvious health bar colour change
- you configure it to have all your heals on single clicks and shift clicks, alt clicks, right clicks etc etc etc. This makes healing about as fast as is humanly possible. The biggest advantage ofc is healing groups, because whilst keeping a tank alive can be a challenge and requires fast reactons, it does not require addons.

I use Grid, puts all your healing into a very small area. shows how much health they are down by and shows which of your HOTs are ticking on them.
You can find it
here
and
here
is a screenshot.
It also shows who has aggro, very handy for grouping with warlocks, who you may not NEED to heal when they are tapping but don't have aggro.

Could try the Ace mod
HotCandy
. Looks like

.
I use Grid as well, with GridLayoutForHealers and GridStatusLifebloom. All of these addons can be found
here
.

I would have to agree. The only "healing" addon I use is Decursive, XPerl's Unit Frames, and a countdown timer on my Paladin. As a pure healer with a healer in each class (Druid, Shaman, Priest, Paladin) I have tried Healbot and Grid and can't stand either of them. I do just fine with my own style of healing and a G15 keyboard =)
I've always said healing is instinctual, and once you get used to the toon, you should be able to heal in your sleep, no matter the healer. I may be insane for having 4 healers, but I love healing and can't get enough of it.
Become one with your druid and you will heal fine, minimal add-ons needed =D

... why do they join just to necro a three year old thread?
I have no idea... But it could be a good topic to have on the go, for new people and for the fact that sometimes new addons come up or old ones stop getting updated.

In that case, it would be better to have a new thread, as opposed to a necro. Although there is the fact that Xperl, Healbot, and Grid are STILL some of the most popular addons (I personally prefer VuhDo) they will probably have changed a lot since 2.3, and any discussion on this-vs-that from 3 years ago is pointless.
It would be like me using the 2.3 version of the resto tree to try to tell someone how to spec.

That's kinda what I was meaning. Hence why I said "topic" rather than "thread".

Having Druid healed back in BC, I haven't been around enough to stay up to date with the latest Druid healing standards. The boards here have definitely been a little thin around the Resto community. I had wondered about addons recently too, so thank you all for your comments, and the post rez!

Definitely Healbot and it's not just for healing too :)

Grid + mouseover macros ftw
light weight addons and still maximum efficiency

I use:
Grid
GridStatusHots
GridCornerText
GridSideIcons
+
Clicque
GridStatusHots+GridCornerText allows me to display my hot timers on the grid frame of a player. It is a coloded text, changeing color depending on the time left (start to gets red before it falls off) Really easy to keep track of all your hots on everybody in the raid.
My grid looks something like this:
|-------+---------|
|8======7-3| <- (8) : Rejuv timer , (7-3) : Lifebllom timer+stack number
+==Name==+ <- (+) side icon here and top midel and left midde for curse/magic/poison
|===+154===| <- (+154) all incoming heals, green text, helps to see if the target is geting heals
|------------------|
|5----mana---6| <- (5) Regrowth timer , (6) Wildgrowth timer
Because of how our mastery and nourish works I prefer to see regrowth and wildgrowth timers as well.
I use clicque to bind all my heals to mouse clicks, no need to target anyone this way. MY bindigs:
left click: rejuv
right click: lifebloom
shift+ left click: regrowth
shift+ right click: healingtouch
shift+ctrl+ left click : nourish
shift+ctrl+ right click: wildgrowth (also have a key binding for this targeting myself, nice if you stand in a group healing the meteor like spliting damage)
ctrl + left click: Swiftmend
ctrl + right click: Nature's Swiftness+Healing touch macro
alt + left click : thorns
alt + right clcik: the spell we use to remove curse/magic/poison :D
If you get used to it you can heal realy realy fast, I mean react to every situation fast.
