New one is completely unrelated to the other ones. Its even based several decades before (Bioshock 1 and 2 take place in the 60s, newest one takes place in 1912) So you can play it without ever playing or knowing anything about the others.

It's not unrelated at all. However, yes, it is completely true that you can play Infinite without playing the first two. The relationship is more "meta" than specific. Major spoilers (seriously don't read if you plan on playing the game):
In the "Lighthouse" level near the end, you travel through Rapture and are told that each lighthouse (of which Rapture is one) is an alternate world as defined by many constants and variables. The most obvious conclusion to draw from this is that the city of Rapture is an alternate version of Columbia and in fact both entire games are parallels.

Hey Rank, Elura's trying to get in touch with you, she says email her lurahbebeh@hotmail.com
When is she going to come back?
Idk, she might not be at all, you'd have to ask her.

I think I might be leaving again. Not that it'd be that different with how little I post.
If I do go, bye. If not, see you later.
Hopefully to see you soon.

Ah, Schrödinger's goodbye. As long as we don't ask if you're gone, we don't know if you're actually gone or not. Well, madam, an undetermined goodbye to you as well. May the speed and position of your particles never be observed.

Well, Bethesda has officially confirmed that no more DLCs are being made for Skyrim. That's it, we're done.
U_U darn. After someone had revealed that they had included most of tamriel in the world map I was expecting an expansion pack into the other countries, or a resolution to the Thalmor Plot.
But, it seems that we're only gonna take the fight to the Dominion the day Elder Scrolls VI is released. (That is IF Elder Scrolls VI is released. I'm still afraid that TESO will more or less end the Elder Scroll Franchise as a single-player RPG, and instead permanently make it an MMO; just like wow did to warcraft, and SWTOR did to KOTOR. I hope time proves me wrong)

When it comes down to it, TESO is only being published by Bethesda. Their sister/parent company is handling the development. So if they decide not to make another TES game, I don't think TESO is going to be the reason.

meh, SWTOR was also made by a different studio (Bioware Austin) it still killed KOTOR forever and ever.
I just have this lingering fear that reason can't shake off, that TESO IS going to permanently end Elder Scrolls as a single-player game. Again, I really REALLY hope I'm wrong.

What? TOR didn't come out until way after KotOR II did, so there might be another big gap.

I don't think there's any less of a chance of seeing KotOR 3 now than there was before SWTOR. I've seen no evidence that STWOR had any impact on plans for the single-player series. Bioware and Obsidian have very little to do with each other.

The whole reason they decided to set TESO 700 years before Skyrim was because they don't want it to interrupt future single player Elder Scrolls releases.

Yeah but it ended any hopes of seeing KOTOR 3, that's what I meant when I said it killed it off. Just as we're never gonna see any warcraft 4.
SWTOR ended the stories of Revan and the Exile, and any plot advancement for the Old Republic timeline will forever come from the MMO. Chances of a new single-player RPG are as slim as the chances of seeing another Warcraft RTS.

o_O
Other than killing off the protagonists of KOTOR 1 and 2? And again, with the MMO ongoing, the only way we'd ever see KOTOR 3 (by necessity with a new protagonist) is if the MMO is closed since onlny one of them can carry the plot forward.
The whole reason they decided to set TESO 700 years before Skyrim was because they don't want it to interrupt future single player Elder Scrolls releases.
This is my main source of hope, and yet I still CAN'T shake this feeling off the back of my head that TESO will simply focus all their attention and manpower and leave the single-player fans shafted. Call it a hunch. Maybe I'm wrong (I really hope I am) but that's just the feeling I'm getting, after seeing it happen twice already (With Warcraft and KOTOR)
