The "what is 6/2(1+3)" posts on Facebook are getting annoying. It seems like there is a new one every week.
Yep, I think people like seeing how intelligent their friends are...
Btw, the answer is 12. hehe
I actually don't mind, to a point, when people replace "thank you" with "thx" or "you" with "u" etc, in a gaming environment. Short hand to me is a bit different then blatantly using the wrong word in a sentence. I have had people argue that 'your' is shorter than 'you're' so they're just not wasting their time... but unless someone is extremely slow at typing and the extra 3 presses of their keyboard is taking an entire extra second or two, I don't believe their explanation.
Anyhow, what are we going to be able to do about it? Nothing; we'll just deal with it.
Can you explain people saying 'double-you tee eff' (i.e. WTF) instead of the much shorter original though?
I've actually never seen anyone write it out that way.

I meant actually saying that out loud, i.e. using 5 syllables of speech instead of the three syllables that 'what the f***' actually uses.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##Squishalot##DELIM##

According to
google
, the answer to that is 9...
Ed: Not that I would have known, I initially thought it'd be 0.75 (expand brackets, then division).

Google is wrong. According to PE(MD)(AS), the answer is 12. You have to remember that in the order of operations the MD and AS sections are one step done in order from right to left. Not multiplication then division..not addition then subtraction.
6/2(1+3) = Parenthesis First
6/2(4) = MD left to right
3(4) = MD left to right
12
And the link you try to go to gamerunknown is to 6/2(1+2) which is 9. HOWEVER, we are doing 1+3...
edit to add problem issue address to gamer.

So, we started P90X for a New Years resolution.
I feel ripped, man. I feel like my arms can't stop flexing lol
Edit:
Welp time to sleep like 4 hours.
I used to sleep 4 hours, play FF(insert number here) for 4 hours, sleep for 4 hours, then play FF again for 4, during summer vacation. It was the best days of my life <3

My fat finger hit 3 instead of 2 (hard to type with an iPhone). So that's my fault >.<
But the problem is the way it is written. Some people have it confused that only the 6 is above the /. Making the rest under it and the answer is 1. But some of them use a division sign so it turns out to 9. If they put parenthesis around the first half, it would solve a lot of problems.
I get 9 either way it's written, but it can be confusing to some.

Also, a lot of people think that pemdas is a set in stone order when only the parenthesis and exponents matter then that multiply/divide come before add/subtract. So in reality, it should be
1. P
2. E
3. M or D whichever is to the left.
4. A or S whichever is to the left.
My boss and I had a 45 min. discussion about this at lunch because he was looking at the problem as a fraction instead of a line problem.

2(1+3)

6/2(1+3)

7 minutes before the end of 2012 I found this girl in a chat, and I have spent the last five days either chatting with her or being out with her. She is totally crazy about me. Would be nice if this time, it actually worked up fine.
