So I take it that most people here know 2 languages. Well, next year I'm starting my 4th! :D
Wow, that's impressive.
I sort of know Spanish, but it's been a few years since I've taken any classes. What I really want to do is find some Russian classes (I tried to self teach, but Russian just isn't a language that can be self taught, a concept which Ald supported).

I don't really
know
any languages other than my own native English, really. I know a bit of French and a bit of Spanish, but not enough of either to have full conversations or to solely use on holiday. >.> I really should know more French, seeing as I'm like 20 miles away. Owell.
Je voudrais un glace. (I realise that I have probably butchered the spelling of that phrase. Oops.)
^ All the French I need.

@ Azazel- I will admit I am a little bit of a snob when it comes to stuff like this. When I see college aged people struggling with concepts I had down by, like, age 12, it irritates me.
Me in a nutshell lol. People need to learn to &*!@ing spell at some reasonable level of consistency, for instance.
I think the misuse of literally comes into play here, Interest.
Literally.

I commend anyone who knows more than one language and respecting them for what I have not yet, and likely will never, achieve.

Well, you are required to have Danish, English and German, though you can skip German under specific circumstances. So about 90% of the native population knows those 3.
It's a small country, and we have unbelievably much English stuff here. I guess we almost need it to survive here heh.

You guys are
required

You are not absolutely required to have it, but if you want to go further than highschool, you need to have had it. And people that don't go there usually take it too. It's "tradition".
And yes, the language is HORRIBLE. They have so much grammar, it's ridicoulus..

I know good ol' American. And a little bit of English.
I took the the worst Spanish classes of my life and learned nothing and now I'm learning Latin so yeah. Languages are really by far not my strong suit.

I was told (in 2nd grade) that the sun didn't generate heat. This was from a teacher.
