I'm watching The Last Airbender, the Avatar kid is superdupercute but I'm having a hard time taking this seriously with all the weird motions and awkward acting..
My sister watched it and really enjoyed it, but I was put off by the acting as well. :P

Tolkien wanted to make an English mythology, so he created it, with some help from the Norse.

He still drew on a lot of the European tales; Excalibur, Arthur, Avalon, and all the rest.

Pretty much everything draws things from other tales, attitudes, historical periods etc. and you can't single out Tolkien for that. :P

The thing is though, that all mythologies don't just manifest themselves fully formed, with no conscious thought or outside influence from other things. For example, the Ancient Greeks had a god of wine, Dionysus. Why do you think
