So Kingdom Hearts has an actual story? I beat the first one, and it seemed like just a nice way to get Disney and Square characters to hang out together. You go around, bash baddies, fly somewhere else, bash some more baddies...
Yes. That's because it's really obscure in KH1, and even to some degree in KH2.

Also, adams, due to either me being a dumbass, the story being complicated, or the article being stupidly worded, I can't find the part where it also reveals something interesting about every person that has handled Sora's keyblade over the course of the series.Whereabouts in
this article
does it reveal that? :S
On another note, my friend just texted me a pic of his SC2 box. I hate him now.
D:
Revealed if you read the information about all three main characters of BBS, and then the addition information about Sora and Riku... even Kairi heh.... and the big secret is; everyone who has ever held Sora's keyblade has a chance to eventually become a Keyblade user... so think of that, Leon with a Keyblade in addition to his Gunblade lol.

The story is wicked intense.
Intense in what way? Plot twists or...? I remember playing the beginning of the second game and the fact that the character you play as was just some fragment of the main character's mind within a dream... or something like that. But I don't see how there could be any intensity knowing that the game isn't mature enough to have characters actually die (well, protagonists at least). At best, they'll steal a character's weapon, wipe his memories, or they'll just be separated from each other for a while.

First game was about traveling the worlds, trying to find the 7 Princesses before the Heartless consumed them all, for Sora it was about searching for Kairi and Riku above all else, for Donald and Goofy they were looking for Mickey, and for all the other characters, it was about stopping the Heartless from consuming the worlds. KH2 and the other games ramp it up to the next level, with the introduction of the Nobodies in 2 and the Unversed in BBS.
Edit: Sora does die at one point; when he transforms into a Heartless, which sets up 2 major things for KH2: Roxas, his Nobody, and the Anti-Forms pure bad assery and destructive capabilities.

It's more about the emotional tensions and the lack of presence of certain key characters. The lack of "presence" serves enough purpose to be considered "death" in its own right.

KH is more about emotional torment rather than physical torment

Heh, KH has Nightmare Fueled death added to it; you know those hundreds upon hundreds of creatures with the giant hearts on them? Yeah, your killing people who fell to the Heartless and had their lives stolen from them... and for extra fun, those freaky ass ghost like creatures from KH2? Yeah, that's the soul of a person who has had their heart stolen by a Heartless; so when you die to a heartless, you get to die 4 times; the Heartless killing you, then afterwards, the death of your heartless and nobody and finally what's left of your heart being added into the Kingdom Hearts itself.... yup... good times.

Sora does die at one point; when he transforms into a Heartless
I'm fairly sure I remember... in the floating castle where you face off against Riku right? Hallow Bastion I believe? Incredibly, incredibly momentary fall into darkness. And yes, I think the impossibility of death breaks the tension quite a bit, you don't really have that same level of fear that you would if characters are able to die at any moment. As for emotional torment, it just seems angsty to me. A universe is at stake and people care more about whether their friend is really their friend or not. I mean, I know it is a staple of Square to have that, but I wish more characters would be able to focus on the mission when they need to - being upset in your own time is one thing, but amid a battle that determines the fate of a number of worlds? Man up.
By the way, interest, I noticed your sig and avatar... how far are you into the game?

It also shows the power of friendship and love, seeing as Kairi gives up part of her own Heart to pull Sora out of the Darkness so he can save her and the others from a wave of Heartless that's about to slaughter them lol.

Man up.Heh, those that do, always seem to come to a bad end in Square games; Squall goes after Edea after Irvine fails to shot her with the sniper rifle... and ends up with a foot and a half long blade of ice through his shoulder and thrown in jail.

What did you think of Birdo and the Guy? Other people who have played the game I've talked to don't think they're that hard (in comparison to the rest of the game), but I personally found them to be incredibly frustrating. How were they for you?

Heh, that takes the game to a whole new level... and going off the ending of BBS, KH3 when it's finally released is either going to end up being the finale... or the World Breaker; either way, can't wait for it.
And on that cheerful note, out for the night, later all.

Mecha Birdo wasn't too bad. The Guy, on the other hand, was downright nasty for his second form.
