Sorry, Orranis. I don't see that. I see this:
Y=Base DPS
X=Talent Build
P=Mastery
Y+X(P)= DPS
I'd like it to be more like this
Y+P= DPS
X can then be filled with other things. Talents like... I dunno... talent for holy pali that makes their divine intervention protect the pali instead of killing him/her... saving both the protected and the protectee. Talents like... "The mage's polymorph spell now steals 2% of the target's health every 5 seconds, and no longer regenerates any of the target's health.

No, their plan is to make talents more like Rime, Killing Machine, Eclipse, etc. as opposed to Toughness, Avoidance etc.

I'm telling you those are just DPS modifying spells... sure they require a little interaction, but they are overall just a +dps talent that you CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT. You must take them. Players are going to try out different builds, parse, reparse, and then post the best build. At that point you must choose that build, spell rotation, and play style or be lower than par. They need to average these effects out to a blanket DPS modefier for someone that takes a build (for example, ret palies would automatically do more dps than prot). The talents should directly change the abilities into something new and improved that has no effect on the dps, but on the way the player plays. Imagine a mage talent that changed all their spells into healing spells (with modefied numbers of course), like the opposite of a shadow priest. Imagine a mage talent that gave the mage the ability to polymoph multiple targets at any given time. Imagine a mage talent that gave them the ability to blink through walls. Imagine a priest talent that gave them the ability to 'guardian' thier target, going into spirit form and bonding with the target's spirit, causing them to transfer all threat and dmg taken to the target, increase all healing done to target, decrease all healing done to other targets, and physically stay "inside" the avatar, as if possessing them. The possibilities are endless. You can keep your lousy 'crit hit will increase crit chance' talents. They are not fun. They are not optional. They might as well be mandatory. And if they are, they might as well be given automatically and the talent points spent on something fun.

So I have an idea for a thread I'll post tomorrow (actually, might be going upstate... sometime soon.) It will be interesting, and will bring me a lot of hate from some people I assume, but will be fun. Just wait.
My hint: If you thought I was arrogant before I created it... You've seen nothing.

She got a L4D2 shirt, which she's gonna wear tomorrow.
I'm gonna wear my L4D1 shirt tomorrow.

It's still not the hardest one though. In fact, the goblins are probably the easiest. Darkmoon Faire and Ravenholdt are going to kick your butt.

Actually.
Goblins are 40% of the time investment for the entire achievement.

Aye, depending on how you do it; plus, you have to watch the Bloodsail rep as well; can't go under honoured for them after all heh.
