it was nerfed in a previous patch, so tool tip is correct.

Warriors get 5 rage per block, parry or dodge from the talent
Shield Specialization
.

Most warriors opt for 4/5 iirc.

Extra 1% block not worth it? It's useful for levelling, and I don't think that raiding warriors need any other skills. Mitigation vs threat?

Assuming a 15/3/53 build, the only place a warrior can take his fifth point would be
Focused Rage

There was a 15/4/52 build floating around the warrior forums that got pretty good reviews. So I tried it, and I personally thought it was great. It took points out of Improved Revenge, allowing you to go 5/5 Shield Spec and 1 point in Cruelty. It's a very small decrease in threat, but in situations where you find yourself rage starved -- happens a lot in heroics, for example, when you're overgeared -- the extra rage generated more that makes up for the loss in threat.
I didn't find the original thread, but it was discussed again
here.
Not saying it's an end-all be-all, but a lot of people, self included, seemed to like it. So there is some merit to 5/5 Shield Spec, and it can be done with a DW build.
EDIT: to go further, Improved Revenge has seen its value fall sharply since Devastate was buffed. Dev does very good damage, and of course keeps the Sunder Armor debuff up. I know that personally, if I have a comfortable lead in threat, I don't even use Revenge anymore.

I was under the impression that Revenge ranked ahead of Devastate in terms of ability priority. I didn't think that had changed, talented or not. I'll have to look into that for my alt now.
Focused Rage vs Shield Spec - you'd need a block/parry/dodge rate equal to the number of abilities you'd be using, for it to be equivalent on the rage calc. But if so, then Shield Spec should be ahead on mitigation.
Anyway, mitigation vs threat, and that's fair enough.

Victarious said that he doesn't use it if he has enough of a threat lead, meaning that Revenge is still ahead in the threat department.

blademeld - is one supposed to be better for threat, and one better for DPS? I was under the impression that Revenge was better for threat *and* (or because of) DPS. Unless what he meant was that it's too much effort looking for Revenge procs once he has the threat lead, so it was easier to spam Devastate.
Sword and Board procs on both Revenge and Devastate, so it's a non-issue. Top DPS will be using Revenge/Shield Slam procs as and when able to. Glyph of Revenge is nice, but yeah, rage won't be an issue, probably.

That's how I understood it, and the bonus utility from Devastate.

I had to check that was in the paladin forum. I was confused for a moment. IMO 4/5 Shield Spec. > Gag order.
