Take or not to take?
I think 5% healing is useless, but I'm not sure.

It's better for ret to take than prot. Ret is judging Light and healing with Divine Storm. My pally is Dual Spec Ret / Prot. I have it in my ret build, but i skip it in prot build.

What if the talent read "You effectively have 5% more health"?
Then I would take it

your asking the wrong question, the question i would ask is... Where is a better place i can dump points?

That's not even close to what 5% increased effect of healing received means.

I think you need to find a few healers and ask them. All the ones in my guild love it.
Because it gives them bigger numbers.
QFT
yay for 5% higher overheals for only 5 talent points.

Divinity is more of a cross tree talent for ret or holy which is why the trees got a few more talents to work with after 3.1.
This. Instead of near-required points in all of the Kings talents (un-improved? lol?), there's Divinity which one can actually rationalize into and out of in different circumstances.

I put 5/5 points in it for starting out in ulduar. In a happy perfect world, your healers are always alive, don't have to heal anyone else besides you, don't ever run out of mana, and don't ever have to run from fire.
If you ask me, if your starting new content, you should pick up whatever you can to increase your survivability, overhealing or not. Bosses hit a lot harder in ulduar than they did in T7 content and theres a lot of fights that have heavy raid wide damage. I would rather give my healers a small help in healing, rather than pick up a 20 second faster stun/interrupt, or a small change to swing twice on attacks (which is #$%^ for threat).

is my spec. I have high survivability, and 0 threat problems.
Once my healers are comfortable with the healing they have to do, and I'm comfortable with their ability, then I would considder dropping it.

Except those
aren't the trade-offs
and this makes your whole post silly.

If you would have actually read my post and looked at my spec, you would see that I took all 3 of them. I took divine sacrifice, divine guardian, and divinity. The only talents I didn't take from prot that some people feel are viable are imp hammer of justice and reckoning. Because I took divinity, divine guardian and divine sacrifice, I didn't take any of the small threat stats in the holy or ret trees. I am sacrificing threat for survivability.
But honestly, I have never EVER had conviction, crusade, or seals of the pure, EVER. And I have never had any threat problems, EVER. So unless your an idiot who doesn't know how to build threat and you need threat talents out of the ret and holy tree, theres no reason to skip divinity for extra survivability in new content.
Any experienced tank who has been around when they release major patches like this knows that you go for more survivability when starting new content. Could it be possible that your another one of the retards who wasn't good enough to play a prot pally back when it took a little skill? Now that they are almost idiot proof, you can suddenly play one and you think your the expert?

I personally like divinity since it also increases healing taken. I'm a 64 tankadin and when BC dungeon start hitting 200-300 when you have 9000 armor you'll be glad for the extra healing.

Thus making your other post even more ridiculous by stating trade-offs that even further didn't exist. What fantasy land are you in?
Your 2/2 SA is cute considering how much incoming damage you say you're taking.
