was over in the PVE forum and someone brought up the change that is happening to Disenchanting (becoming a roll)
I believe the new system will only @#$% off chanters more, as they will loose a lot of mats due to immediate delivery to a player. But I do not want to get off topic.
I don't know about the rest of you but mats are my primary source of enchanting income... i really don't make much actually selling enchants. And I don't even think I have broken even on selling mats since I lost so much money using them to level my enchanting high enough to get them.
So I think it should improve that a little bit... It won't cost me so much to level enchanting because I won't be missing out on as much money by not selling the mats i use to level (whoopie!) but I think it will also bring more people looking to get enchanted to me since they have a bunch of mats sitting around (that don't sell for much since everyone is selling them). But these people will probably want the chant for free or pay a diddly squate tip since they are bringing their own mats...
but hey, with everyone disenchanting all the greens I should be able to make some money off them by not disenchanting them!
How will they loose mats? Most groups should be rolling for the gear/mats already. Unless he's referring to chanters "forgetting" to call a roll at the end of the run and making off with the mats.
And if you're not making money off of selling enchants your doing it wrong.

Every other profession besides BS and JC say Hi!
I dont see what the big deal is. I see all these enchanters complaining that their profession is gonna become useless(Engineers say Hi!). No one is forcing you to be an enchanter and no one is forcing you to enchant/DE stuff for them. Go with the flow or get out of the water.

Vellum has been introduced into the game. If you want a guaranteed profitBefore I made my own scribe I often found vellums overpriced too. Funny thing is, now I find out you get vellums for free with research a lot of the time! Those bastards!

I took it as the roll was for enchanters to have a roll that wasn't need or greed, which would take precident over greed but not over need (perhaps, may be last on list), not something that lets everyone roll and auto get the mats from a disenchant. May be wrong tho so correct me if this isn't the case.
From playing on the PTR and by reading the patch notes, it seems to me that the way the new system will work is that
if
, and only if, there is an enchanter in the group that has a high enough skill to DE said item, a third option will appear on your roll window.
Need would still be first priority, followed by greed, then if no one needs/greeds it, the item is auto DE'd and given to the person that rolled the highest via disenchant option.
That is, if the loot system is set to allow rolls on items (which it'll always be set to need/greed in the new cross-realm system).
If you're an enchanter in the party, and don't wish to DE any items for the run, simply tell people to greed on any items they don't need, the greed rolls will still overrule any DE rolls, though you may be voted out of the group when people learn you're an enchanter and aren't willing to allow rolls for DE.

Maybe they should just make enchants automatically become scrolls?
I dunno. Is vellum a better money maker than glyphs?
/shrug
I don't like playing the AH game so I just made a character for each profession. Only one I don't have maxed is BSing and all I need from that is belt buckles.

I am an enchanter but when i do heroics I never let my gorup knows and we just all greed. I rahter keep the items I won and D/E. Why share all the shard when I could greed and have a chance to get all the tiems myself. Yes I am greedy coz I am poor.
I honestly don't understand how people can fail at math and still play WoW.
Before:
5 bosses = 5 drops = 5 rolls = x% chance of winning a greed roll
Now:
5 bosses = 5 drops = 5 shards = 5 rolls = x% chance of winning a greed roll
OMG LOOK AT THE NERF!

That's not how it's working right now. Need>Greed=DE, so if you greed and someone rolls disenchant, and they win, they will get the disenchanted materials.
