If they decide to change the available looks of one race, they should end up revamping almost all of the other races too since people will just QQ about their race not getting any attention...
For me a whole new character customization feature would be awesome too. WoW may be a super popular MMORPG but it have the least raw/core character creation system compare to many other MMORPG. Like in Aion for an example, it took me literally 30 minutes to make my character. I think many people playing WoW would want that level of customization to be included in WoW sometime in the future. It doesn't have to be super elaborate as Aion, but just something better than more flexible than the current system we have now maybe.

*chuckles* Aion doesn't have customization. Champions Online has customization. Comparatively speaking, WoW is to Aion what Aion is to CO.
Granted, part of that difference is in the clothes - and it would be difficult to allow you huge amounts of customization when the actual armor items you're wearing determines the armor on your character model. I hope that reforging includes some customization options in the way of armor coloring, though.

I feel there should be more customisation. If I wanted to make a Human Mage, I wouldn't want him looking like he hit the gym every day and like he took a mace to the face.
All of the Pre-BC models need an update, but as well as that I think we should have more choice as well as an updated model. Ideas such as tattoos along with others might work well. It seems so simple, but it would certainly make me, and presumably a significant amount of other players, very happy.

Did you know?:
some pants models actually have mass, and don't just look like skin-tight latex, wearing a tabard however, makes the "mass" turn back into the character's base model (skin).
Not sure how plate looks, but while previewing my T8 mage pants the overlapping plates on the sides of the pants were clearly visible in space and not just in texture, the moment I applied the tabard however, it went flat.
The reason for this flatting out of models (I think) is the same as for any other "speed over eye-candy" thing about WoW: less polygons = less resources used (specially in a crowded area). This mentality however is outdated, because most PC's are more than adequately equipped to run WoW with a few million polygons more.
ON TOPIC: yes old races should get an overhaul, if nothing else then at least the faces and hair textures (ever seen the hair of an orc up-close? looks like a mosaic).
I did not know :O Checked out the T8 pants and omg you're right! Would love to see more of that stuff and yeah I agree that most people have kick butt enough PCs to manage it.

That's depend on your definition of character customization. Sure, armor cover the majority of your character, but what most people are after is body shapes and face shapes. WoW do have low poly counts on characters so it's pretty hard to implement such thing, but the more options for the players the better. With the new barber shop system they kinda add more choices but surely there need to be even more choices in the future to satisfy the people.
As for CO, the customization options sure are huge, but that's only because that's what you're going to look like the whole time you're in the game. Armor and weapon skin is virtually nonexistent in that game.

It's
one
of what you look like. You get multiple costume slots, and each of those slots can be designed completely differently. For instance, I had a dual blade character whose base outfit was her in a sports top and cargo pants with combat boots, while her second outfit was a set of flexible steel armor under a trenchcoat.
There are also a number of different weapon types, for the frameworks that wield weapons. For those that don't wield weapons, you can generally choose the color of your attack, as well as the point of origin (eyes, chest, palms, fists, etc.).
That aside, I know what you mean - CO has about 15 different sliders for various portions of the character's face, and another 15-20 sliders for other parts of the character's anatomy.
The only problem I had with CO is that, like City of Heroes before it, I found myself logging in just for the character creator, and not for the game play. It took about a month before I got bored and came back to WoW.

Humans, Nightelves, Trolls and Undead, female orcs, need serious facelifts. The fact that Draenei and Belfs look really good, and it looks like the goblins are getting touched up next xpansion. It would be a shame not to see work done on the original races.
And i would like to hope that orcs could get the red skin of the fel orcs with Garrosh taking charge now.

Leave my female orcs alone... they just need better hairstyles... lol

Garrosh and the others aren't fel orcs, They're Mag'Har... and they're
brown
not red.
But yes that skin color would be cool!
