You should be fine in a few heroics. Mainly the easy ones like Nexus, UK, DTK and VH (depending on bosses) should be very easy for you.
Try finding a normal
ToC
farm group, there are some nice drops, including the
intellect trinket
.

Well, I find
Discipline
a little more forgiving on mana, and 5 mans don't have too much group damage that a Prayer of healing can't smooth out generally.
However, when I dinged 80 in February, I stayed with
Holy
from level 70, and it was viable...but it meant I was going OOM a little more and drinking a lot more in a low gear level. I missed out the Glyph of CoH because in 5 mans, which you want to focus on, there won't be any need to heal more than 5 people with CoH.
Both are good, but I think Discipline is kinder to a lower gear level on regen whereas Holy excels once you have a decent set of gear. Just try out both, and play which one you most enjoy. The stickies here will answer most, or maybe all, of your questions about Holy and Disc. :)

I took the CoH glyph while still running 5-mans, but pretty much because my tiny guild's leader was at that time a BM Hunter.

This. Discipline is much more forgiving for heroics as the mitigation as you gear up increases whle the damage output in heroics stays pretty low. It's also very forgiving on mana.

I'd like to take a stance on being Holy Spec to heal 5 man instances. Most would argue that it's easier to heal 5 man instances as Disco (which it may be because keeping bubbles on 5 players makes like obscenely easy), but here is my take on Holy being more FUN to play in 5 man instances!
Here's
A Spec
. (note, A SPEC, not THE SPEC, lots of flexibility I'll get into).
So here are a few of the bits and pieces that make this spec work well for 5 man instances, and make it more fun for you too!
Fully
Talented
Renew: Makes life easy on you because you can get a quick punch for some small party damage and have yourself covered until the next trash pull as well as likely have them fully topped off! The Empowered renew also gives you opportunities to get your
SoL
and
Holy Concentration
procs which help you keep on goin'!
Body and Soul
: Yes! I have always been a fan of this spell, but most of all fun in 5 man instances! It will allow you to sit back and drink, then catch up to your group if you have that over-zealous tank. :-) It also makes running back through the instance significantly more bearable after a wipe! Don't forget about your self-poison cleanse either! That comes in handy in lots of situations! :-)
Surge of Light
: Excellent spell for topping off your tank after getting those procs with your Empowered renew! Also comes in handy if there's nobody taking damage and you just feel like smiting something! (like a harmless beetle or maybe you can feel powerful by putting the finishing move on a dying mob!)
Serendipity
: After all of those SoL procs, you might as well get something out of it! Always fun to bomb your whole party with a big PoH that was 36% faster. :-)
Glyph of Holy Nova
: you could replace this glyph with a different one if you wanted, like
Glyph of PWS
, for instance. I like using Holy Nova from time to time when I get bored in 5 man instances. It's fun to watch yourself pwn a really terrible DPSer in damage in instances like Halls of Stone. ;-) Careful though, it's a mana-eater!
____________________________________________________
There we have it! A Holy Spec that gives you TONS of tools that are both FUN and useful in 5 man instances! We are like the "Batman" of healers with a giant utility belt full of goodies! Let's be honest, he'd be boring if he only used his batarang all the time! Have fun in your 5 man instances!

Did anyone put anything in your coffee today? You seem very charasmatic today. ;)

lol, I'm at work (yes working on a Saturday) and nobody is here... When you're a doctor and nobody shows up... you kinda have nothing to do... so I have nothing to do but post and all of my charasmatic morning energy has to go somewhere. Glad you could benefit from it! (or maybe suffer?)

But ah well, at least you have a chilled day at work (so far).

okay patty, that PS in the letter is amazingly hilarious i don't believe I've never read your signature before.
Anyway, back on topic, tell me you don't think that spec would be tons of fun in a 5 man instance? I just use my raid spec and try to find creative ways to heal the group through damage. 5 man instances are so boring and over-played these days... Gotta do something to spice it up!
edit: I'm already through the morning of my day, which is almost ALWAYS the busy part of a Saturday. Afternoons tend to fall off with maybe a miniature rush at 2:00ish. We'll see...

Well, time for me to put my dinner in the oven hehe...twenty to six for me.
Anyway, I think your spec could be fun, but as I said, it's probably easier going disc first and getting a feel for both specs.

grats! i'm glad it's working out for you. A few changes I would make though would be to get down the disco tree more because i feel like you've just seen the tip of the iceberg in terms of what you COULD have as a disco priest! Don't settle for what you have now if you could potentially have a much better spec! I always encourage people to experiment with specs before settling down, ESPECIALLY if you haven't yet had the joy of using
PENANCE
!
It could change the WHOLE ballgame for you!

Oscar, I actually did spec deep into discipline tree. For some reason you just cannot see my spec just yet. Shield + penance + renew + flash heal + PoM and an occasional PoH for the group was the game. And it worked! :-)
oh great from what your armory showed, you must not have been up to date! (because to be honest, that spec kinda sucks... shhh!) Your current spec is excellent.
edit: one last suggestion: don't use spirit gems as disco! If you need to use Royal gems (Purple, does SP + MP5) if you REALLY need to fill that slot. It will give you more overall than the spirit alone gem will.

i'm no disco king but that looks about right to me! I wouldn't GEM for the crit. I think you should probably go intellect > crit for sure if actively gemming.
