During a Lunar Festival some years back, I joined a newly-forming casual raiding guild at level 24. The next day, they planned to raid all three Alliance cities to get their tokens. I was logged in when it happened, but didn't think I'd be able to tag along until the GL whispered me and asked me why I wasn't at the gather point. We took on Stormwind, Ironforge, and Darnassus with a raid full of 60s and one little level 24 priest--they forsook their mounts, kept the guards out of my newbie aggro radius, and waited for me when I died.
I've been in a a goodly-sized pile of guilds since, but it's still the best sense of fellowship I've gotten from any of them.

Imagine if you will...
A level 35 Night Elf Warrior (myself) and a level 35 Night Elf Priest (my friend) questing out in Stranglethorn vale. We've been there a while, came to the zone a little earlier than I would have liked.
Since this was WAY before 2.3, you can't just level 30-45 at that zone alone, so we were running thin on quests. We had already had help on some of the other hunting quests in the area, so we were at the part in the quest to kill King Bangalash. (

)
I decided that we should totally go for it. But my friend, being logical and pointing out that the king was 7 level higher than us, while not being the easiest elite in the game to begin with, decided that it was nothing short of suicide. I finally convinced him that there wasn't much harm in trying and we should go for it. He eventually gave in, and we headed for the spawn point.
As we arrived, someone was finishing The King off, so we waited. Not long afterward, a Orc Hunter came by, along with a (I can only assume) level 60 Undead Warlock. So the race was on... who would tag the great beast first.
I waited there, my finger on the charge button, awaiting the inevitable spawn of the unrivaled king of the jungle. My priest friend renewed our Power Word: Fortitude buffs on both of us, as we could both feel the spawn was soon.
Then, the white beast appeared before my character's glowing eyes. I charged right into the tiger's side, and began the battle by somehow sundering an animal's 'armor'. The warlock and hunter both laughed at our vain attempts to survive against the onslaught of The King's fury. His claws scraped against my shield and armor like they were paper, my life draining rapidly.
My partner though, thankfully, was up to the task of keeping me alive against the torrent of claws and teeth. My attacks barely did anything against the impossibly thick hide. The battle raged on, my health barely hanging on, my partner, chain chugging his mana potions, was feverish to keep with the the sheer amount of damage I was taking. We were approaching the 50% health point, which would be the ultimate deciding factor in the battle. We braced for impact as it's health rolled over to 50%, the hunter and warlock behind us taunting and laughing at us.
King Bangalash called upon his minions, and two non elite cats spawned right next to him, ready to help their master in combat. I quickly changed targets to one of the cats, my partner and I intent on taking one down as fast as possible while letting the other rip and tear the priest up, since it was apparent I would not survive all three attacking my for nearly any amount of time. We barely manage to take out the first minion before my partner's health was critical. I taunted his assailant off, and proceeded to put down the overgrown housecat.
We managed to kill the second add, just barely. Victory was close, we could taste it, but my partner's mana was completely gone. Right as King Bangalash was about to deliver the finishing blow to my beaten, battered, and torn body, my partner's mana potion cooled down, and managed to put a shield on me, saving my life. We still weren't out of the woods yet, we had another 50% of this cat's life to dig through.
As the fight raged on, my partner was actually slowly GAINING mana, after getting into a good rhythm for healing me. We got the beast to 20% health, vitory was certain. I breathed a breath of relief, as I knew we had won. Then I noticed an odd icon on The King... I then recognized it as a warlock spell, Curse of Agony. Then came another dot, and another. The cat's life started dropping much quicker. After the cat was dead, I could almost hear the warlock behind us curing at us, and could feel him spitting on my tattered cape. I laughed, smiled, grabbed my half of the head from the king of the jungle, and ran off to turn in the prize. I took a moment to look at the upper left hand corner of the screen, and saw that there was only 10 minutes left on Fortitude.
Yes, we had fought for 20 minutes straight, against a powerful elite mob, 7 levels higher than our own... and won.
That, was my most memorable moment, in all of wow.

My favorite moment...
I had leveled a pally all on my own, having heard about guilds but never really knew much about them. While questing around South Shore I got ganked repeatedly by some Horde. I asked for help in General and before I knew it there was 5, then 10, then 20 Alliance there. It pretty soon became a full scale war with about 40 people on each side fighting in Tauren Mill. It was the real first world PvP I had experienced and it was full of sound, fury, death and above all, FUN!
During the fight I found the people who first responded to my call for help and started sticking with them. During the fight I got asked if I wanted to join the guild. I immediately replied yes and have been with them ever since. The guild still goes out and does world PvP and it's still as much a hoot as the first time.

My favorite moment was when I was one of the first mages to get Nathrezim Mindblade when Karazhan was "serious" stuff.
Also, when I was the second mage on the server to get S4 weapon.

my favorite moment of wow was...
when i finaly dinded my rogue to level 60 pre tbc, the first thought going trough my mind was..
i could finaly start playing wow :D. but then TBC came out and i had to start over again after grinding
my full field marshal i discoverd then some outland greens were better then all my gear, then got me down a lot untill i discover rampart's and smurfland(zangemarsh). the new land and mobs realy got a smile on my face. so after questing to 70 i was 1 of the first of my server that give one of the best feeling i had in that whole month(since my dad passed away the same month that was realy hard on me and my family).

My best WoW moment was when I got a PM from the GM of the top guild of my server saying that they had accepted my application and would like to start raiding with me right away. It felt great. I would finally be part of a respectable guild, and get some good gear as well =). It definitely made my day.

My favourite moment has to be the day i got Warglaive(offhand).
I was set to be the masterlooter in the guild, and as soon as he was downed and the raidleader yelled on Ventrilo: "DON'T TOUCH THE CORPSE!" i was sneaking all the way to Illidan's corpse to distribute the loot, and when i pushed the corpse, i saw this awesome orange color, and while i was holding down my push-to-talk button down, i jumped up from my chair, yelling loudly and rest of the guild didn't know what happend untill i told them there was orange.
Besides that moment i enjoyed all the endbosses in whole the game, ragnaros, nefarian, c'thun, Kel'thuzad, Vashj, Kael'thas, Archimonde, Illidan and im still hoping to get Kil'jaeden down soon.

Great idea on the competition i must say, i'll even use some time to read through the other additions to this threat :)
My favourite World of Warcraft moment:
I've been an active player since the first day of the european release, and i've had alot of fantastic moments in the game, i've met alot of fun and interesting people.
So it's quite hard to decide just one to use in this competition, but i've decided to choose
But there is one moment that is quite amusing, and quite remarkable.
So, i was in Tyr's Hand at level 60, doing my daily dose of killing alliances and goldfarmers, and i killed a warrior and a rogue, and i decided to hearthstone, and log off, cause i had made plans with a friend of mine, to go to town and get some food and relax a bit.
So when we got to town, we bought ourself some food, and we went to sit down, and i hear this guy ranting about world of warcraft, so i laughed silently, and we decided to listen in to the conversation. So, midways under our bigbite, the guy ranting suddenly talks about how his warrior-class is too weak against rogues, and it didn't make it better that the fight was done in Tyr's Hand, and that he could not escape because of the guards.
Then i choked on my food, and i turned around and i asked him where he played, and offcourse, the answer is Sunstrider, my realm. So the conversation evolved into why what and when, and i decided to tell him who i was, and that it was me who had been ganking him for about an hour straight, getting him repair bills from the guards patrolling the area. And he told me he had got so angry, that he almost destroyed his keyboard and mouse, and rage-quitted the game, and decided to cool off in town, where me and my mate decided to pop up.
Coincidence, or faith? You be the judge :)
