In my guild on Eonar we used to take a lazy Sunday afternoon and blow off steam by creating lvl 1 gnomes with a certain theme in mind. That began our crazy Gnomerathon runs.
We have done these runs occasionally over the last few years and they are always enjoyable. They are usually done on a different server so that people have character slots. It's amazing the kind of people you get clustered around wondering what the heck you are up to.
We've taken out hogger with lvl 1's (some lvl 2's from traveling exp), ran through STV -> Booty Bay -> raid Crossroads.
A lot of great times. Love the Scarlet Robes :)
Here is a video that our guild leader at the time did for one of our Gnomerthons.

I would have to say that my favorite experience in WoW would have to be when I first entered the Dark Portal at 58 on my first main. I remember riding up to it on my glowing red warhorse then walking up to it with caution and the butterflies had my stomach feeling all bubbly. Walking through it and seeing (now the utterly dull and boring IMO) Hellfire Peninsula. I was amazed and so excited seeing that for the first time. As soon as I walked through the portal I remember seeing at least 15 of my guildmates standing there and cheering for me. It was absolutely fantastic. Almost brought a tear to my eye.

My favourite moment was when I saw my first true end-game content (IE; Black Temple, Mount Hyjall and Sunwell) with my hunter. The first time I stepped through the BT instance I was scared, I didn't know what to expect but my guildmates guilded me on what to kill, kite, MD.
Also fighting and killing Illidan the first time, I was simply amazed that I had just finished all available end-game content and that I had actually been there to revel in all our hard work.

My favorite moment was yesterday ( 14/09/08 )
In Hyjal Summit, we were fighting Archmonde, and when he was 14~16%, most of our raid members were died, but the DPSers damaged Archmonde to 10% and got the 1 min buff, with this we killed him with ONLY 10 people alive. We were very shocked becaused we won on the worst situation.

My greatest moment would have to be...
A time when my guild and I had only just started doing ZA. We only cleared Nal and Akil before we called it a night. Some of us still had the quest to discover the 3 landings where the bosses stood (the name for the quest escapes me atm). Seeing as we hadn't cleared much more than a bit of trash and the 2 mentioned bosses, we decided to mount up, get our best hp buffs and rush the platforms. We took off, plate wearers in front to take the brunt of the storm as the rest of us followed behind. We got to a point where we had lost all of our cloth wearers and a few others so a pally DI'd our only rezzer still alive and we pretty much wiped it out where we stood. It played out like this for a good while so let me get to the point of the best part.
We got to just before the platform that Jan stood upon, we hugged the walls as we buffed and mounted. Our tank gave the countdown to begin, " 3...2....1....Go, WAIT!" is what we heard over vent. We turned to see that our tank wasn't mounted yet and luckily no one had pulled. Maybe it was a moment for something you had to be there for to truly enjoy, but it was the greatest night of WoW ever. We walked away with repair bills out of this world. For me, a hunter, i was around 30-40g, completely broken. The next day before our scheduled raid we took up donations to pay our tanks repair bill.
So there ya go, sorry for the length, but that is my greatest moment in WoW history.

My favorite moment was back in the first days after vanilla launch.
Myself and my friend had leveled up a warlock and a warrior, and we were finally in Arathi Highlands. This was the first time where we began to meet alliance on a regular basis - it was awesome :)

Getting Grand Marshal of course equipping that god awesome sword for the first time, and pimping myself in Ironforge all day. Having to spend the rest of the day with my DND set to: "Thanks, I <3 you too." because of the total spam of "grats" in /w :P

I gotta admit,
My favorite WoW moment, was the culmination of a week long pestering of my roomate.
I was getting close to 60 and didn't want to have to buy a 900g mount.
I checked online and found out that the
Baron
in UD Strat dropped a
mount
that was free. I spent a week talking about how I was going to ding that weekend and how I was going to run UD Strat and get the mount.
So my roomate decides to run with me to help me get to 60. Me on my druid, him on his warrior, and we had 2 guildies of his with us, a priest and a mage, and we picked up a pug rogue.
Not only did I ding 60 on the run, but the mount dropped and I won the leader roll. Far as I know, it was the first on Arthas.
I had a standard response for a while to all the questions I got that went like this:
"5 man, not 10.
None of us were above honored.
Won the leader roll.
3rd run."
The questions I got were always about whether or not any of us were exalted with the argent dawn, or if it was ninja'd, or how many runs, and whether we 5manned or 10 manned raided it.
I still only have 1 full speed land mount. Deathcharger's Reins has served me well for almost 3 years now.
