Spellbreaker's Quarter - The mess hall
"Yes, sir," Kim nodded and stood up as well, anticipation once again bubbling up inside her.

Grintham sat down and did his best to enjoy the meal, though he could not quite shake the memory of Elthalis' scream nor was he able to fathom how most people lived on a diet of such plain food on a daily basis.
Unlike the previous night however, he tried to be careful about how much he ate, eat too much and he would throw up later one of his uncles had taught him, eat too little and he would lack the energy to get through the day.

Kazhra finished her meal in silence, not wanting to get involved.

"Well, that is the attitude I like to see," Dietrich's lips quivered in a half-smile. "Come, deposit your cutlery onto the conveyor belt over there and join me in the Common Hall. Do not dally long."
Siber grabbed his tray and almost ran towards the conveyor belt; at least he did not trip on his way. Though making it so far was nothing exceptional, he was still stirred by the Curator's obvious approval, especially when compared to the coldblooded attitude of the Taskmaster.
When the scarred boy entered the Common Hall, Dietrich gestured at the numerous sofas and chairs dotting the room.
"Make yourself comfortable, but not too comfortable. I'd be disappointed if you fell asleep," the Curator spoke, loud enough for his deep voice to carry over to the eatery.
"Sir," Siber nodded and made his way towards a nearby chair with armrests. He sat rigidly upright, determined to heed every word.

"Judging by the screams and your long faces I'd say you're having fun with my old master. Isn't he jolly?" Varathrien spoke instead of a greeting as he strode into the Battle Mages' eatery, a lopsided grin on his face tailor-fit to provoke an out-of-line response.
"I remember my days under his tutelage fondly. I started out as a slovenly child, and by the end of my apprenticeship I could kill a war veteran with my bare hands in a couple dozen different ways - after sprinting a mile or two and looking none the worse for the wear afterwards, mind. You'll get to love it as well, I assure you.
Anyway, your time's up, so get off your asses and into the Common Hall with you lot. Lecture time! Oh, but first things first, drop your dirty dishes over there. And by drop I obviously mean deposit with utmost care!"

"Like you'd let me - heck, or anyone at all - know that you're surprised. Can't have that, can we now?" Eryan chuckled in response.

Vera drew back in mock horror. "What? And give everyone the satisfaction of knowing I was?" She giggled and patted Eryan's hand. "Can't have that now can we."

"Yes, exactly," Eryan nodded, letting go of Vera's hand eventually; he was somewhat confused she had repeated his words pretty much verbatim, but did an admirable job of not letting it show. Demonstrating weakness would probably be the biggest mistake he could make.

"First class today is in the Evocation tower," Arthur said as he moved towards the stairs. "The course outline gave Miss Skivvers as the instructor for the first part of the day."
"That's the spirit," Vera replied brightly. "Come on. I wasn't lying when I said class starts soon." The somewhat short young woman hurried out of the room and to the balcony, making her way towards the purple teleportation stone.

"Except distance from little miss Prissy face," Vera replied. She placed her hand on the purple stone. The familiar tearing sensation filled her body, but she had grown somewhat accustomed to it by now so, upon appearing in the room at the other side, only stumbled a bit on arriving and was forced to lean against a curling metal divider running along the edge.
She stood on a small landing near the bottom of the floating tower, an ornate red and golden domed overhang providing some pleasant shade. The curling metal fence behind her which she now leaned upon prevented an errant fall. A glance at the sides revealed how the landing curved away to the right into a ramp that clung to the side of the building, leading up and beyond her sight. A wooden door blocked her way in but a slight push granted entrance easily enough.
The room beyond was a large one with a high, vaulting ceiling like a cathedral and a breezy atmosphere. Curling supports carved to look like dragons swept up towards the ceiling and met in the center, and looking up there Vera had the strange sensation as if the air was filled with slight static. A feeling which passed momentarily.
Thick oak tables were lined up in on either side of the room in groups of two with benches behind them. A wide gap cut between the sets to provide a route through to the front of the room. A large desk crouched in the fore of the room, seeming to loom over the tables before it. The effect was exacerbated by a tall and narrow chair sitting behind it. Of black wood and red inserts with a high back decorated with a pair of what looked like horns, it was an odd seat to say the least.
Several display cases with strange items shared the walls with some bookcases and chests.
Vera took all this in with an intrigued glance as she leaned into the door frame.
"Yes," Arthur replied in a non-committal tone.

Spellbreaker's quarter - the mess hall
Kim, too, deposited her dishes with all due haste and made her way to the common room, where she chose an armchair next to Siber and made herself comfortable as instructed.
With an anticipating look she gave the curator her full attention.

"Curator Malaghast, i hope that was sarcasm or we do indeed have difrent ideas of 'fun'." Elthalis said with a sly grin and narrowed eyes.
"And i do suppose in due time Curator Malaghast, that i would be able to do much of what you describe, most likley i would enjoy it, but i would not suck fel like you sin'dorei." The Quel'dorei said as if it was an insult and her grin was vanished down to a regular moody face.

"Will you look at that," Varathrien flashed a toothy smile. "A spoiled little brat looks down upon her betters. Do you enjoy being punished, kiddo?"
He eyed Elthalis, mulling over his options before continuing.
"It seems that physical pain is not getting through that thick skull. Oh well, whatever am I going to do.
Everyone needs a hobby, yes? Me, I'm an avid tailor. I helped design these uniforms you people are wearing. A lot of work was put into it."
In a blink of an eye, Varathrien whipped out his rapier. Three lightning-quick strokes slashed through Elthalis's clothes, never touching her skin. It was only after the curator rammed his blade back into its sheath when the scraps of clothing fell on the ground, leaving the female elf in her underclothes.
"Which is why what I just did probably hurt me more than you.
Listen to me, Elthie. Obedience and proper behavior will be hammered into you. As a punishment for insulting my race, the rest of the day you'll spend in your underwear. An attempt to put something else on will warrant further punishment.
You have until the end of the week to repair your clothes. Any questions?"
Androw gasped, his cheeks blossoming a fiery red at the sight of Elthalis being humiliated. The short boy turned away.

Elthalis gasped, took a step back, widened the glowing blue eyes and her cheeks turned scarlet red. Humiliated by only standing in her azure blue bra and panties, a humiliation that only increased by the number of eyes that behold her almost nude elven body. She turned her face to the side in shame.
She hastly gathered what remained of her uniform and realised a major setback. "Curator Malaghast... Is it possible for me to learn tailoring? And maybe lend me a needle and thread..." The high elf requested humbly and her voice geting quieter by the word but still hearable.

Elysia barely resisted the urge to slam her palm into her face after Ethalis more or less decided to get herself into further confrontations with the various authorities. Good thing too, she was carrying her dishes when it happened.
She deposisted them where she was told, and attempted to block Ethalis from the male battle mage's vision, Luckily, as she was a good bit larger than the other elf, she managed to block the most embarrassing parts.

Grintham snorted, "all types 'a elves are the same ter me," he commented, hormones trumping manners and making it extremely difficult for the dwarf to avert his eyes. The thought Elthalis' might not appreciate being looked at did not once cross the teenager's mind.
Maybe elves weren't so bad after all... The womenfolk at least... Certainly not the men, too effeminate the lot of them.

"Drop and give me twenty pushups, Grintham," Varathrien grunted irritably, with a snap of his fingers sending a jolt of pain through the dwarf's ring, equivalent roughly to a wasp sting - impossible to ignore yet nothing too severe. "Better forget that any of you has a race, or a gender. That this fool girl is being humiliated is for her education, not your entertainment."
"Elthalis, you'll find a tailoring kit in your locker - everybody has one, considering the nature of your training it is expected that your uniform is going to need mending on a regular basis. And that shelf over there," he pointed with his delicate hand, "Has some tailoring manuals; though I have not read those particular editions, I am given to understand that anyone with sufficient mental faculties to be a student of the Collegium can pick up all the tricks of the trade they are going to need, with enough patience and effort."
