My college sells it for 12$ to anyone in a business class.

It's worth noting though that despite the strong A$ and the lack of distribution costs, MS charges A$50 (being about US$45) for students down under. No good business reason either - the USD/AUD hasn't been down at 0.6 for years. Bloody discrimination.
Also, not sure if the same details apply to this deal, but you will need a legitimate version of Windows Vista to upgrade. Windows XP doesn't cut it, if I'm not mistaken.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, and then I can have something else to flame Microsoft about.
Edit: Thanks Hyper - one more thing to flame about.

The American version (at least) allows an upgrade from XP.

I'm pretty sure the Australian version doesn't allow you to upgrade from XP. I recall not getting it, because I thought the only machine I've got running Vista is my laptop, and I didn't trust the upgrade to keep my laptop/touch screen functionality working properly.

My college gives MSNDAA (MSDNAA?) accounts away for free.
I.e., Windows 7 = free.
