Just wondering. If half of the WoW subscribers are Chinese gold farmers as so many of you claim, how do they effectively make any money? This sounds to me like one of those situations where the supply completely overwhelms the demand.
Has anyone who has made these claims ever taken Macroeconomics 101?
Take a look at
this
. If what you're saying is true then supply is pushed far to the right and demand is pushed far to the left... assuming the gold-seller economy is at equilibrium then prices would be really low. Are there really enough gold-buyers to accommodate the apparently overwhelming amount of gold sellers? Especially since if you are a gold seller then you're not a gold buyer, so that already leaves only half the population as gold buyers... then there's the average person who would not bother spending so much money on a simple game, and then there are those who really have no need to buy gold, et cetera, et cetera...
I'm not saying half of the WoW population isn't Chinese... I just don't think half the WoW population is Chinese gold sellers.
Has any
ever
made those claims? I think not.

Exaggeration. That's why people say 'half'.

Be right back... with quotes! I imagined it's a hyperbole, but so many people seem to really think so I might be wrong.
Meh, this is too much work... I should not have deleted cookies. W/e, I repeatedly see this in the forums, trust me I say!
I don't think you understand how retarded it is to say that half of WoW accounts are owed my gold farmers, economics or not. If you take anyone seriously who says that you either can't take a joke or don't know a troll when you see one.

Keep in mind, if someone buys gold once they will probably do it again until caught and banned. That would technically raise the number of gold buyers in comparison to the total number or WoW players.

Literal troll is too literal.
Exaggerating trolls often exaggerate.

I'm not saying I believe it, I'm just grabbing that statement an analyzing it with basic economics knowledge.
Basic economics knowledge, yes. Common sense, not so much.
Sorry, but no one (I hope) is
seriously
saying half of all WoW accounts are just Chinese gold sellers. That would be silly. China doesn't have 6 million people.

I never said believe, I said "take seriously." Big difference.
And you're obviously taking them seriously by trying to prove "them" wrong. Whoever "them" is.
