In Heroics I would rather heal an avoidance tank rather than someone with 40K health but gets hit like they got runover by a truck.
Case in point: I healed Hero HoL, I normally tank, but figured what the hell, I'll heal instead. The tank had 39K health with BoS & Fortitude. I figured cool. On every pull she was taking massive damage. I inspected her making sure she hadn't forgot a piece of gear, she was good to go. Later, I took a better look and she was gemmed for pure stamina, no avoidance or defense at all. She was very hard to heal. Summary of story, in heroics, avoidance > stam if you want to make your healer happy.
As Prot I have 29% dodge, 19% Parry, 48% Block (with Holy Shield) but only 32K health (34.8 w/BoS). I have healers begging me to grab two groups at a time in heros.

Yes, I just love those bastards with uber HP when I realize that it is all they have. And the worst is when they think its all they realy need.
I wont forget for some time the damn 40k paly who grabbed the whole Bronzebeards platform in HoS HC and subsequently forced me to burn divine sacrifice, lay on hands and to spam the holy light out of me like never before. I think theres bout 5 constructs in there.
He probably thought how cool he is, isnt he?
(I remember doing the exact same thing with a 30k DK tank... and with no problems, because he actualy knew what "tanking" means.)

I have 2 sets of gear for tanking. One for raids, one for heroics. The heroic-gear lowers my defence to 535, and my hps to somewhere around 30k. Gem for str. Grabed my retri-libram and trinkets.
I love it. Much more fun to do heroics that way.
Started doing heroics with 19k hps as a tank. I had lower hps than some of the dps i grouped with. Ofc healers had to work a bit harder. Or maybe alot harder.
Demanding 30k+ for heroics is just stupid.

I've healed 1drake OS with a tank on the Boss with 25k health. Yeah, its just fine, the rest is just padding for mistakes (minus in ulduar and beyond).

That room is kind of deceptive. There's 4 constructs, with 2 different kinds. One gets stronger the longer it's alive. Much stronger. After 40 seconds I think it does 100% more damage with a 100% faster swing speed, and cleaves. The other stuns for a second. But with two of them, chain stuns with two guys hitting like Uld 25 trash... it can be harsh if your DPS can't drop them fast.
DKs also get an advantage there, as IBF prevents stuns.
That said, the fact I can call all this from memory, I think, is what defines a great tank. Many tanks I see know all the boss fights, but when it comes to trash, they just charge in and pewpew away like a DPS, with a high threat modifier. It works now, when gear has made most heroics a joke, but back when 23k was excellent for a starting tank, it was invaluable.
