what number should I reach before it really wont matter how much more I would add?
from my perspective, a tank,
bonus healing always helps, the math behind it is linear, not roots or arcs or anything of that sort.
unless you can heal the tank from 0% to 100% with a single FoL, without the BoL, bonus healing will always help.
that means your bonus healing will have to be
~31k with group buffs (for instances, assuming paladin/warrior tank, druid tank = more HP, hence more +healing)
~59k with raid buffs (for raids, with the same criteria as above) before adding more is obsolete
edit:
there are some bosses that reduce healing taken, and some that have special situations (like netherspite)
so... even more?
boss healing reduction can be from 50-75%, so 2-4 times more for those situations
so... ~240k for raid

Blade is right, I don't know about his examples though. They seem kind of weird.
pssh.. you try doing the math then ;)
13000hp/42%(FoL coefficient) = 31000
25000hp/42% = 59000
ofc, i'm assuming the best possible gear/buff combos, yes, some raid tanks can go over 20000, check the EU armory for Kungen, he has 18000-20000 unbuffed

Same here,
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Bloodfeather&n=Remily
still looking for +heal. Miss some ordinary chants and could boost my eq quite much more. Got some +50 heal with my PVE set. Working on maximizing my cooking to get extra heal boosts when needed.

wait, thought of something else
you would have enough healing, if the 1/3 conversion spell damage allows you to kill a boss mob with a single seal of righteousness swing ;)
that's 5 million HP downed with 1 swing, then, and only then, will you truely have enough healing

I'm a Holy Pally, and I do both PvE and PvP. I stack a lot of +heals, it's because it's the base of ur heals. I stack on Int and Spell Crit for my PvP gear, and Int and mp5 for my PvE gear. I have about ~1725heals, about 24% holy crit chance with my PvP gear. ~1700heals, 21% holy crit, and 150mp5 PvE gear. All unbuffed.
..150mp5 unbuffed in PvE gear?
Jesus Christ, are you in full Black Temple armor/weaponry?

I'm nearing 150 mp5 unbuffed, it depends on what gear you have. I'm an mp5 whore.
142 mp5 1463 +healing, and 20% to crit with holy spells
I'm wearing Primal Mooncloth set which helps with +healing and mp5
its all preference

I know this is unpopular, but if your a paladin in cloth gear, why not roll a priest?
because a couple pieces of cloth won't kill you?
and priests don't have the efficiency as paladins in MH

I know this is unpopular, but if your a paladin in cloth gear, why not roll a priest? The armor class limitation of Priests is the very least of the differences between the two classes.
This question has always baffled me.
Excellent point. Let's not turn this into a "who is a better healer" or "what class of healer do you like to play" discussion. Heal over Time? MP efficiency? Buffing? Debuffing? AoE? It all depends on how you want to play.
Personally, I'm finding that I wish I would have rolled my Paladin before my priest, because I would like to have the option to switch from MT to Healer. Priest allows you to switch from Healer to Nuker. So it really depends on what you'd rather do down the different trees that a class has to offer, imho.
