Best way to level through PvP

I've been playing WoW for a little over 5 years, and even though I play on a PvP server (US Frostwolf), I haven't really done any PvP outside a few BGs and 2 - 3 Arena matches with my Mage, Blood DK, Hunter and Resto Druid. Since I believe a complete WoW player needs to know both PvE and PvP aspects of the game, I've decided to start a PvP toon, focused mainly in PvP.
I have started a Warlock (
Infernodemon
), and even though I have read some websites (such as Noxxic, for example) to get a better grasp of how to PvP as a Lock, I'm still not overly confident of some aspects of the class, and would like some advice.
1-) What is the best spec? I mean, I believe "the best spec" may change throughout the level ranges, not having a single spec that is "the best" from level 1 - 90.
2-) Is leveling through BGs the best way (and fastest)? Should I mix some BGs with quests and dungeons?
3-) I have some heirloom gear, but was wondering if there are any "special" items (maybe twink items) that I should seek to help me level faster / kill more in PvP?
Any true help here is really welcome.

Personally, when I hit 10, I exclusively pvp and do dungeons on any character I level because I just love to pvp. I, usually, do dungeons at the beginning levels of a bracket (won't matter in 5.2), so I'm not at as big of a disadvantage by levels; That way I can use some of my rested exp and do the dungeon quests for a good chunk of a level. At early levels, you will level quite fast this way, especially with wins; AV in particular can give you tons of exp (I have literally gotten 3 levels from one AV win in the 50-54 bracket). Later levels will take longer though, and by the time you hit 75-79 bracket, you may as well just quest and do dungeons instead of pvp because it is slow and you'll just get crushed by people that buy cata greens.
As for the spec, I really like Destro while leveling just for the those juicy chaos bolt numbers and ember tap kept me alive really well. All the specs are pretty good at low levels, though. Demo is a little more beefy and can deal a lot of damage fairly fast. Affliction has a setup time but can really rip through people and is devastating if you get your dots on everyone. Just try them and find one you like; you'll do well with any one of the specs you choose.
Doing the pvp will also help a little bit with gear since you can get rings and a trinket (stamina and hit which I find near mandatory since hit is so hard to come by) from the Warsong Gulch vendor at the northernmost part of norther barrens, and a belt and boots from the Arathi Basin vendor at Hammerfall in Arathi Highlands. Then, of course, you can fill in pieces from your pvp sets at 60 and 70 (70 is especially strong). 80 and 85 costs too much and they get replaced with the first quests in the zones you'll be going to.
I hope that helped you out.

hi there! I leveled my warlock solely in battlegrounds up until 85 (i started him in wrath) and it went really quick and smooth for me! So i'll try to give you my two cent.
1. I wish i could say :) I know i played as destruction because i really liked the spec (he was my second warlock) but never really played it that much so i figured that this would be a great way to grow more familiar with it. I believe i did switched to affliction sometimes. The difference was not that much noticable. In general Destruction was always concidered more of a "battlegrounds" spec that the other two, and to tell you the truth felt more fun aswell! Made the whole experience more enjoyable.
But i'm sure with the latest changes in all three specs everything seems viable!
2. That's kinda depending on your battlegroup i guess. As a horde in mine (i think it was Rampards EU,can't say for sure) we won far more often than lose. So that helps a ton. Also (i know this may sound like a no-brainer but i'm just pointing out) fullfining bg objectives such as "capture the flag, defent or take towers, take bases, kill boses etc award you xp aswell so you'll get a nice amount even if you loose.
3.I only used some heirloom items (no legs, head were available at that time) no enchants or anything else. Only thing i got as fast as possible was the pvp trinket. And ofc with all the extra honor like Meldoron said above me you can grab some extra pvp pieces from the said vendors to boost your damage/survivability a bit more :)
Sorry if i made any grammar mistakes or mistyped anything. Hope you have fun leveling your lock in battlegrounds! I know i did ^^

Leveling through PVP -is- a bad idea, but a lot of folks aren't giving the other class reasons: for example, hunters and priests tend to be REALLY STRONG at low level - and, some warlock specs may not have the full breadth of their toolkit yet to deal with them. (Or, if I'm being honest? If a full heirloomed hunter gets the jump on me, I might as well admit it's time to sit in the Penalty Box Graveyard for a few seconds)
Where leveling through PVP is a GOOD idea is that for all the time you spend in the Penalty Box, you'll start to learn how movement and CC affects things, how you manage to stay "on point" and "way the heck away from melee" and also "how to jump a hunter, disarm him with your Voidwalker, and then hit him with a fear and a stun while you line up all your damage abilities."
If you intend to arena at max level, the honor you get can go to buying the faction PVP mounts, or, you can save and buy pieces for transmog at 70, 80, 85 - or, you can buy some PVP gear at 90, where you'll use Timeless Isle pieces to flesh out the rest of your set and prioritize trinkets or max level PVP gloves!
It won't be as efficient as if you were questing and doing dungeons - but, you can learn a lot about the class' PVP ability as you go, if you're patient enough to flail at first.
