Arena imbalance

Lets discuss which classes are the worst for 5v5 arena. Remember that blizzard says they are balancing pvp around 5v5 arena.
At the moment I think the worst classes in the format are Mages and Paladins.
Mages are extremely vulnerable as a class, even frost mages with double iceblock. Having two iceblocks does not change how vulnerable mages are, how mana ineffecient they are, and even moreso when they have to spam spellsteal / blink due to being focus fired. Mages do very well against warriors for the first about 10 seconds, then diminishing returns on frostnova / frostbite procs / water elemental nova / Entangling roots means that the mage has to tank the warrior till diminishing returns wear off, which they do poorer than any other class. Once out of iceblock X2 the mage becomes a liability to his team if focused, being the least armored and lowest hp target on his team in addition to being useless when oom. What bothers me the most about the mage class is how fear simply put is a better cc in almost every way compared to polymorph. Thats not even counting how warlocks always have access to a silence off of the GCD and curse of tounges. (I signed up for CC when I signed up for mage, and warlocks have more cc than I do!)
Paladins are quite different - so to say that their problems are quite different, but their ineffective is similar. Simply having plate and the ability to heal himself means that the paladin is rarely the focus target, which is why paladins can get by in the arena wearing PvE gear. The problem however is that paladins rely entirely on casted heals to support their team, and to top it off it really comes down to being entirely focused on their one spell - "Holy Light" Now the problem with holy light is that it is a 2.5 second cast time. A 2v2 team of shadowpriest/rogue can keep a druid from healing his target for well over 10 seconds, and that is a class that has a powerfull instant heal on a 15 second cooldown as well as a plethora of instant cast hots.
Now if 2 characters can keep a druid from healing his target when it matters, imagine a paladin in 5v5. (See Noxn: Chapter two on warcraftmovies) Simply put, a paladin is a good workhorse healer in that they heal hard and often, but the truth of the matter is that they are simply so easy to disable when they are most needed to heal that they are quickly becoming the worst healers in 5v5. To make matters worse they don't even have the longevity that can match (when in my opinion, considering they are workhorse healers, they should be able to heal for the longest before going oom) shamans with their new and improved water shield + mana spring totem not to mention Mana tide, or Druids with innervate, or even priests with shadowfiend. Once a paladin goes oom, he is forced to drink, and thats the only thing he can do!
I have a 70 mage and paladin. Maybe I'm just jaded?

Umm.....
yes I'm talking about 5v5... and perferably high end 5v5.... and no, there is not a 5v5 2300+ rated team that sports a mage without iceblock.... and with 21 points in frost no they are not considered "fire" anymore... and AP / Pom / Pyromages are techincally arcane...
And yes FoL is more mana efficient that holy light, but FoL is quite a bit less on the HpS.... and if your spamming FoL you leave yourself even more open to counterspells and the like not to mention you won't even have Light's Grace for when you really need it... and no holy paladins could actually get by pretty damn well in full pve gear in the arena's simply because having 60% melle damage mitigation and mega healing potential is more than enough to make a team pay for focusing you...
I'm really kind of flabbergasted by your reply... its quite obvious you have no idea what your are talking about.

indeed... but i do enjoy theorycrafting and since i was being stupid, i removed my former comment...
i like the ones that finish in less than 2 min.... for me 15+ min pure-pvp is not not worth any item in wow
one thing i don't understand about your post
if you're high rated, why wouldn't you have PvP gear anyways?

5v5 is not the be all and end all of PvP. I personally don't like it at all.
