Was muckin around on my other toons recently and I rediscoved my 44 hunter. I do enjoy hunters quite a bit, but at the moment I am currently levelling a warlock alt.. currently at 20. I don't really want to waste heaps of time on my hunter only to find groups still dont really want hunters through higher levels.
Should I focus any more attention on my hunter or should I leave him on the shelf and maybe just use him for some BG fun ocassionaly? I would love to do some more PvP as I havent induldged in much. I have been playing for a couple years now, my main is an 80 priest. Just wanting to break up the monotony a bit with an alt.. Thanks for advice. If you need any more info just say so..

I got a hunter at 80 for a long time (and at 70 in TBC) and I've never had problems getting into a group. Only reason I got dejected for my class ever is because they had too many Hunters already (But that doesn't happen much since theyre one of the least played classes).
I'm always topping dps meters with uld10/toc10/uld10HM gear, with around 5k, so thats no problem either.
He's also quite overpowered in BGs, however many Hunters don't seem to understand how to use 'em in pvp.

well, alot of that is from when hunters used to be the "any idiot can play 1" class.
Course, now it seems that Death Knights have taken that role.
And before anyone gets huffy, yes, there are quality players in both those classes.

As warrior tank I really enjoy playing with hunters more than any other dps. In TBC heroics a hunter was the best thing to bring along, trap, kiting, offtank, md, slows...much better than ill placed sheeps so i couldnt cleave or thunderclap. So my love for hunter dps sort of stuck.
Hunters often compensate for other dpsers stupidity, as example lets say im about to make a corner pull, i throw/heroic throw one mob, run behind corner and instead of waiting 2 dpsers open up with aoe, so much easier to regain control of that situation as tank with misdirect and a quick freezing trap right infront of healer.

Hunters are good if you know how to play them. My friend and i started out as hunters. Needless to say, i hadn't a clue how to play them, but he did. Right now im levelling a mage, and hes pusging 6.2k DPS on his hunter. Ill try and get his talent build for you, as i remember i spent a week accompanying him to the training dummies with my DPS meter.

About half my guild has Hunter alts, and they are all amazing XD.
But really, most animosity towards specific classes had been redirected to other classes, *cough*DK*cough* Most hunters i see now are calling the DK's noobs...
I see hunters that are topping the DPS charts and can play their class amazingly good. Then there are those that are worse than the DK's, (there's mroe than one ranged attack O_o)
And lastly, don't discriminate against any class. Give em a chance. Like recently in Hellfire Peninsula I was on my DK (i am good at DK's btw) and there was a guy wanting to do Hellfire Citadel. I told him twice i could dps, but in the end he said "LFM DPS for Ramparts, no DKs!" sad part was he was a DK. I got on my paladin about two hours later and he was still looking for DPS. He wasn't accepting hunters either.
Anyways, don't discriminate against any class, see how they do and if they are good, keep em. If not, give em the boot, but don't think that just cause they are DK or hunter that they are noobs.
