Abandoned cities.

What do you guys think Blizzard could do to revive these great (animation and lorewise) yet abandoned cities?
Portals between all the cities.
I use the Kirin Tor ring to hearth to Dalaran. My hearth stone is set to wherever I quest. I portal from Dalaran to Shattrath or Orgrimmar. This combo allows me to reach what I need (and I happen to love the feel of Orgrimmar). If it was possible to go from Orgrimmar to TB, SC and UC instantaneously, I would. But right now using the zeps just takes too long.
Bang! Mages lose their jobs (well outside instances anyway) I usually make portals for people when they ask. And if I'm in good mood I'll do it for free!
Nono, more likely remove the reagent from portals so that mages are more able to create portals faster. Also reduce the casting time xP
Mages wouldn't lose their jobs. They can still open a portal from anywhere in the game (ex: end of an instance) and tp players to capital cities. :)

I dont think an extra 2g here and there (price on our realm for a portal) is going to drive mages into poverty, will also help a lot when levelling (seeingas there doing everything to make that as easy as possible)

I love silvermoon city and Exodar. to me those 2 places are not only good for avoiding lag but i can also navigate around there easy. Darnassus however, is just plain crap, the routing system to the nearest mail box is too far, getting to your trainer takes too long, also the
quests
take too long for me. and they dont really give any wantable rewards, plus most of them are just for druids

Put portals in the cities that go straight to Dalaran (with or without a level / prequest reqirement).
The reason why they're empty is because Blizz forces everyone to stay in Dalaran, as Dalaran is the link to dailys, heroics, raids, everything. Yet there isn't a single portal to Dalaran anywhere in Wow.
As such, everyone is forced to set their hearthstone in Dalaran, and they're too scared to leave because once they do they can't get back.
It really is as simple as that. Put portals to Dalaran in other cities and people will make their home in the city of their choosing rather then the city of Blizzards choosing.
For myself, I'd love to make my home in Shattrath where its nice and quiet and I can fly around everywhere. But I can't, because it would take far too long to get to Dalaran just to do my cooking daily, fishing daily, heroic dailys, argent tournament dailies, etc, etc.
As such, if you need me, I'll be in Dalaran, probably afk and unable to leave because my hearthstone is on cooldown so I won't be able to get back.

And if Blizzard is afraid Dalaran will be plagued with low levels, why not allow those portals to players who are 74 or above?

Location, location, location.
I want a city with AH and bank and mailbox right next to each other without much travel time.
Additionally both the bank and the AH have to be as close as possible to the teleport point (the one the portal in Dalaran takes me to).
That's why I love Exodar. I can take the portal in Dalaran and don't even get unmounted and can ride to the AH which is right around the corner with a mailbox directly in front of it. Sadly the bank is a bit far away.
Ironforge is also awesome, bank and AH are extremely close - only the traval distance from the portal in Dalaran is not perfect.
I hate Stormwind. Distance between AH and bank isn't awesome and the Dalaran portal placement is probably the worst of all alliance cities. I don't get why so many people are there ... but then again the Stormwind harbor makes it a nice travel hub.
For Horde I just hate Silvermoon and Thunder Bluff. I totally get why they are deserted. They are not accessible and just annoying. Way too long walking distances to reach anything.
To some extent this is even true for Ogrimmar. I personally like the Undercity. You have to get used to the layout but if you know where to go every trainer as well as bank and AH are always right around the corner.
