The best is watching these same people fail when attacking the commanders. Why is it they always seem to pull 2-3 commanders and 1 or 2 lieutenants?

I can do the 4 champions without healing in-between when there is no lag, so i'd say i know the mecanic by now. It's quite fast to do too, ~5-6 minutes. That being said, i sometimes do help people just because i can or get helped by someone else who's probably bored too. Can't say i really care about doing it the "pure" way, but i mostly do it alone since it's a controllable fight.
(that being said, when there's WG lag or whatever, it becomes such a pain :/ )
On the other hand, i always group for commanders and the like before the citadel, because it's just not worth the bother. I can solo them, but why take 10 minutes to do something that can be done in 2 minutes with a group ? There isn't even a need to factor time to group in since there's always someone looking for chillmaw who will be glad to go to the Citadel afterwards.

The dailies are the same thing day after day, except for the one weapon daily that rotates between different "errands" to remote locations.
If a group of people would rather get it all done in five-ten minutes with a group, and move on to other activities that interest them more, how does that affect *your* choice to do the jousting solo?
It's not necessarily about jousting being easy or hard, per se, more that it can be completed quicker with just a bit of teamwork.
Sure, for some it may be that they don't want to learn how to joust. They're probably the same people who leveled entirely with refer-a-friend and instance boosting, and didn't know how to play their toons at 60. There will always be people who prefer to be carried rather than put in their own effort. This will show up in their performance in group settings, and they will ultimately either leave the game, or learn to carry their weight (or transfer off-server and start the whole process over).

but rather it just makes me think that people can't accept any form of challenge and or are so unwilling to learn something new, learning a new raid boss strategy could make them just want to give up.
For some people, the words "challenge" and "fun" just do not go together. I'm not saying that's bad, it's just a fact. Some people *enjoy* the challenge of pushing themselves to see how much they can accomplish. Others just want to get things done in the most expedient way possible. To each their own.
Personally, I'm one of the "dumb" ones that likes doing it by myself, to the point of disengaging from the fight if someone starts to help. I use the stopwatch and try for a new "best" each time I do them.

Dailies aren't there for fun imo, they're there for the reputation, rewards and gold.

I hate vehicle fights. I have several cool chars with a whole arsenal of great spells and moves so why would I ever be satisfied riding a stupid dragon or tank with 2 buttons for attack and 2 for heal?
I hate the first boss in Ulduar. My guildies think it's great fun, but I hate being limited to spamming 2-3 buttons and annoying cooldowns. Same deal with EoE and Oculus.
Strangely though, I find jousting fun, maybe it's because I actually need to move around and have a tactic rather than just spamming "throw firebomb" for 57 minutes. I've even become pretty good at it, and is close to succeeding killing the 4 champions and the 3 valiants without any healing in between.
However before I figured out how to joust I killed the valiants and champions by grinding them down over 5 minutes with Trust and both having 3 shields. Close to 5 minutes pr. kill, and yet another stupid, pointless, boring vehicle fight and I was one of those trying to find a team mate to help me..
It doesn't have to be about being a good or bad player. Imagine that you are really into instances and raiding, and the tournament guys offers you a great belt and a nice spell damage sword for doing a few dailies for a couple of weeks. You do dailies for repairs anyway, so why not collect some marks and get the boots. But it turns out you need to kill some mobs with a stupid lance, and to be honest you don't really care for the whole concept, you just want to get the quest done. You try and manage to kill the mobs in 5 minutes pr. mob. Next mob takes 5 minutes too. That's 20 minutes of mind numbingly trusting into a mob with 3 shields, every time you get range on him he charges you and you end up dead. This is where you start looking for a team mate to help speed things up.
For some people it's just not worth learning to master it, they are only in it for the boots and need it done and over with in a hurry so they can move on and do something they consider interesting.
I've grown into like housting, but I understand why some people don't care one bit about it and just need an easy way to get the q done.

Those of us that level multiple classes in order to experience as much of the game from as many angles and roles as possible tend to actually ENJOY things like jousting, vehicle fights, Hodir's Spear, etc...
I have multiple classes to experience a wide variety of the game and love a challenge. However I absolutely and thoroughly hate vehicle fights. Vehicle fights suck because they normally limits me to 1 button for attack, 1 button for shield and 1 button for heal. Most vehicle fights don't add challenge, they take it away by dumbing down the fight to a very few moves.
Did you ever do
http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=13091
where you become a water elemental with some mage abilities? So there I was, on my mage, with loads of nice spells, being able to kill the mobs if a few seconds. I pick up the quest, gets turned into a water elemental and have to kill the same mobs, but this time by spamming weak "frostbolts" on an unnatural long cooldown and killing a mob took 30 seconds.
It's not challenging, it's limiting, getting to spam the same spell over and over for way slower kills.
