Engineering as a Secondary Profession
Return to board index
There are four secondary professions: First-Aid, Cooking, Fishing, and Riding
I was looking over
, and a lot of the stuff are things anybody would want as a commodity to have fun with, more than pick the profession for the stats benefits. Bombs, rocket boots, portable mailboxes, all of these things are really cool to have (can't forget the goggles!) but it is not like these benefits are worth giving up say Blacksmithing or Jewelcutting.
So these are the
I came up with as to why Engineering should be secondary.
-Engineers can keep all their toys without sacrificing other professions bonuses (which are better by a mile)
-People who want to try Engineering can do so without sacrificing their own profession.
-There will be more demand for mats, so it will boost other professions (Engineering uses stuff from a lot of others)
-Engineers would lose their "Uniqueness"
-Blizzard would probably screw it up somehow
Feel free to add to this and share comments etc. Good, Bad? I just had the idea and thought i would share it =]
My rogue is an engineer. Been one since he was created. I will never change professions for one reason, engineering is a very good utility. Yes i cant socket my bracers or get three better gems socketed, but its the sacrifice made to have these unique abilities to forsee a wipe comming, vanishing and ressing the healer as a rogue. Or needing a little extra aoe and throwing out a simple bomb.
It is a main profession because it is too unique to be a secondary. All the toys are meant to be yours only and to make that sacrifice. and if you want a blacksmith, make it an alt if you want a certain toon to be an engineer. Just keep in mind what you sacrifice for this nifty craft.
