really, it's just whatever you can get your hands on at that point. if you are a JC, then just use the two JC trinkets - they are great. same with the alchemist stone.

otherwise, the ones you had at 70 will last you until 80 if need be.

Whatever you come across while leveling is fine for getting up to 80. I can't think of any defensive oriented trinkets availible before the lvl 80 instances, apart from the ones created by jewelcrafters and alchemists. I did a quick search for trinkets with req. levels 72-78 and came up with this, nothing interesting shows up really, apart from the crafted trinkets.

So unless you're a jewelcrafter or an alchemist, I think you're stuck with offensive trinkets until normal Halls of Lightning where you'll find this.

you can always grab a friend and go back to get this from SL.

Sadly I still had this until i hit 80 (quest in helfire).

of course as soon as you're able to tank HoL then you'll want to make sure to get this

you can always stick to offensive trinkets until you're 80 anyways, it won't make a huge difference until then.

Dabiri enigma can be achieved by very soloable quest (not sure how much soloable by a warrior in mid 70ties, but i was able to solo it as 68 lvl ele shaman with crap gear).

I think any dps trinket will do just fine. PvP trinkets are even better. Resilence helps with reaching uncritable.

I really never had this problem i tend to keep everything that isnt very outdated in my bank in case i needed it sometime and i had like dozens on trinkets from TBC like:
Commendation of Kael
Shard of contempt
both from same boss in hc mgt.
Commanders badge
That will take rather long to reach Revered with Netherwing.
Dabiri Enigma i already spoken of and some more i vendored or disenchanted so long ago i dont even remember them.

Basically from Blizzard point of view trinket slot is kind of filler to all classes, tanks in particular and they dont really concentrate on that. Than from a tanks point of view trinkets are good slots to go for pure stamina or offensive stat.

There is Adamantine Figurine, Seal of the Pantheon, Dabiri's Enigma, and Regal Protectorate

The Adamantine Figurine is from Shadow Labyrinth, Boss 2: Blackheart the Inciter
Seal of the Pantheon is from reg HoL, last boss: Loken
Dabiri's Enigma is from a easyly soloable quest in Netherstorm
Regal Protectorate is from the quest Overlord in Hellfire

Other then that you'll get Essence of Gossamer from Heroic Azjul-Nerub: Hardonax and some other stuff. Heres my profile of my Prot warrior: Quilan
