Question about "trick" focus targeting

In the event an enemy has you on focus, would it be of benefit to have your pet name the same as your name? that way when they press their focus button it will also go to your pet and perhaps making them cast a stun, fear etc on the pet instead of you, i remember there was also another use for this in BC but i forgot exactly what it was

People dont use focus for targeting in arena (i assume that the arena event you talk about) they use an addon called proximo. Name of the pet has nothing to do with how accurate it works.
Also if they by any means were doing such dumb thing as mechanising something using focus - the focus actually targets you as an object - doesnt really matter what name you have.
If its about FD avoiding anything most people use macro called
/target lasttarget
Nothing to do with your name again.

mmh, people use focus, its necessary to use it when you dont want to tab, also can you explain what proximo does/is exactly? i havent played since bc so this stuff helps :D
