They are very good. just look at the 2v2 top tep comps. DSince Viper sting got hit nard by the nerf bat, priests have pretty much had free rein. They are very hard to be focused down and have massive utility against the majority of comps.
They are great fun in BG's!

Disc priests with the right partner can do really well in arenas, obviously requires some skill though.

disc is awsome for pvp, just awsome
i havent been pvping on my priest for very long, just since dual specs, but in my one peice of pvp gear, i healbot my boyfriend in bg's (hunter) and its not uncommon for us to live threw 2 vs 4-6 with ease
i spend a lot of time dueling people outside org, and most cant touch me, dk's, druids, locks and mages are soo easy 1 vs. 1 with disc

You are the focus. You are the victim. Your job is stupid. Your partners are having more fun than you.
I also have a Rogue, as well as a Druid and a Shammy, and I understand what you're saying, however, I love Priest for the exact same reason you seem you dislike them for. I get as much fun simply surviving as a Priest as I do when I kick squishies' ass with my rogue or kitty. While my goal as a DPS is to bring someone else's HP bar to 0%, my goal as a Priest is to make sure no one's HP bar gets to 0%, especially mine. It's always fun to PW:S at ~5% HP, then PoM and Penance and get back up to ~90% in less than 3 seconds. While Rogues take pleasure at making a healer's life miserable, I take pleasure at humiliating DPSs who think they can down me.
I can't imagine anything funnier than watching some retarded DPS trying to work his way through my bubbles, only to get killed by my Shield Reflection. We also get a couple of pretty useful offensive abilities, such as the dreaded Psychic Scream or infamous Mana Burn... If you let yourself be a victim and don't enjoy it, then try to turn the tables around. Anytime I see a warlock, I /drool at the prospect of Mana Draining him while under the effect of Power Infusion, Hyperspeed Accelerators, Borrowed Time and other hastening effects that let me drain them to 0% life and health in less than 10 seconds (I 2v2 with a ret pally so he can bubble me while I drain mana at the begining of the game, which in itself is usually sufficient to secure victory). You can also usually find the time to support your DPS some with Holy Fire and even Holy Nova can be useful when used at the right time (obv. not in 2v2 tho...).
While I agree PvP Priesting is certainly not for everyone, it's a lot more fun than healing PvP as a Pally or Shaman, imho. Maybe Druids can compare or even be considered better for PvP Healing than Priests, with their Cyclones (WTB better CC than MC on priests...), Shapeshifting (to prevent CC or Mana Drains) and what-not.
I PVP for fun, and I don't have fun losing, and priest doesn't have enough impact IMO.
You shouldn't be losing... You wouldn't be losing if you had the impact a Priest is supposed to have. If all you do is spam Dispel, try to land a Shadow Word: Death killing blow and generally heal people, of course you're not having fun, but if you take advantage of your spell arsenal, Priests can be the funniest class to PvP with, to me, anyways. All a matter of taste, just like anything and everything else.
