Starting a retribution paladin for arena
Return to board index
I have just leveled a paladin to level 80 and I figured I would put it into the arena as retribution with a resto druid buddy. Seems like a pretty solid comp, and I want to have fun with it.
However, since I am relatively new to the class @ 80, I would like for an experienced retribution paladin to give some advice on the following:
How much resilence should my paladin have?
How much stamina should my paladin have?
How much attackpower/crit rating should my paladin have?
Should I mix in PvE gear, and how much if I should?
What is the 'best' 2v2 retribution spec?
Keep in mind this character is an alt, most of its gear is just grinding from BGs or grabbed from the friday naxx alt-runs in my guild. I will likely not have access to serious ulduar gear, and my naxxramas items will be limited.

Thanks for any info that you post.
600 resilience is a minimum. 25% crit too, and at least 3k ap unbuffed i'd say.
Remember also to cap HIT. 5% is enough generically speaking.
Playing with a druid, i would use my spec (the one with vindication), moving imp. BoM to Eye 4 an Eye. Get him to spec improved thorns if possible, i dont know if thorns stack with retribution aura but if it does it would be totally OP.
Basicly, get full honor gear with WG chest and another WG trinket (95 resi / 750 ap on use the most popular), then you're good to go.
HP should stay at least over 20k.
Since you're not able to get PvE gear just go for the PvP gear and start playing arenas as soon as possible.
Doesnt matter if you end up losing every match you'll still get arena points for better gear.
The most important thing in the arena is not what your gear is like when you start but how much time you have when you start to get arena points.
