Obliterate Vs SS, opinion's please.
Return to board index
Hi all, for a while now I've been using obliterate as a heavy part of my rotation due to the incredibly attractive crit factor received from talents but my question is this: Obliterate is phisical damage so the onyl talents to benefit said skill is the +%9 crit but on the other hand SS is shadow spell based damage so combined with talent's such as Black Ice and Impurity etc what would would you think would come out on top?
unbuffed I have 3.6k AP. Raid buff's I can hit 5.3k+ so that would also effect the Scourge strike :s
p.s, It's a waste of time me linking armory as I'm in tank gear lol.
link your spec.
is my current dps build, but depending on the opinions I get, if SS proves better then I'll opt for:
(atm I'm also glyphed for Obliterate)

I have been Tanking as Unholy.
Unholy's AoE rotation can take a few sec get any real threat up.
DnD > pull > PS > IT > Pest > UB > BB > SS > DC > BB > SS
Dps can not really start until I get Pest off.
Once pest is off DPS will never pull aggro off me
. It can take 3sec from the time I pull until the time Pest is up.
Because of this if one thing goes wrong like trigger happy - AoEing DPS is pulling aggro before I get Pest off, I can not stop my rotation until Pest is up or I risk losing aggro on the entire pull. This normally end with dead DPS. This makes UH a inflexible as a MT.
I am now making the switch to Frost.
Trust me, I have been playing a UH for a wile and just got the ins and outs of UH tanking. Tust to find out it takes forever to start your AoE rotation.
You can spec UH and tank well. You will go mad but, UH can work. Just spec frost form the start and save your self some time.
