So, the class is dead because you've got brain-dead healers?
Or did I miss the point of you were trying to make?

Rule #1 is Don't Die. You can't keep doing fantastic DPS if you bite it in the middle of a boss fight. If this means stepping back for a second, vanishing/whatevs, and breaking away from the boss for a second, it's what you have to do. No shame in it, and it's better than the alternative.
Yes, for example feinting tantrum on XT isn't as dumb as you might think it to be

Keep this in mind:
Healers #1 priority is the tank. If the tanks die, it's generally a wipe.
Healers #2 priority is the healers. If the healers die, the tanks don't get healed and it's a wipe.
Healers #3 priority is the dps. Your heals are coming but the tanks and healers get dibs on heals.
As a rogue, you have so many abilities to reduce damage/aggro that you shouldn't worry too much about the healers. We have Feint, Evasion, Cloak, Vanish, Sprint, health potions, warlock healthstones, movement keys, etc
Feint during Tantrum on Deconstructor, Feint during Emelon's Nova.
Don't use Vanish as an "oh $%^&" button, but a chance to reduce threat and get back into stealth in combat for more dps.
Cloak and Feint (and Every Man if human) come in handy on Hodir .
Your own situational awareness should keep you alive 90% of the time. Don't rely solely on your healers to keep you alive. If you play your class right, the only damage you should be taking is the unavoidable aoe damage and your healers will get to you when they can.
