Um, 3Mb/s is probably enough speed to have ~100 people play lag free (if not more).
If you're having "load issues" that's not the internet, that's your computer.
Wow uses very little bandwidth, outside of a raid (or city). When you get heavily populated it might be an issue. (And if you use vent, lol)
Really anything (outside of satellite connection) will be faster and better then a 56k modem and will work just fine.

Hardware can come into play. Heavily populated areas will tax not only your system and network, but in the case of WG, the server as well. When experiencing lag, you have to really know if your having system, video or network lag. Because they are all caused by different things, for different reasons and can be handled in different fashions.

I have satellite internet, and although i wouldnt recommend it for WoW, it is much better than Dial Up. It loads things up fine, i just hope you dont mind 900-1500ms latency

WoW uses approx 400 bytes per second uploading and 2 000 bytes downloading per second.
To maintain that, you'd need a 16/3.2 kbit down/up internet-line. With 3 mbit down, you're over the requirements by only 2984 kbit/s.

yep, tell that to my 1mb connection and a constant 2k ms if not after midnight

And fied the numbers too.

When my isp shapes me to 56k it gets painful. 5 second latency is not unusual, especially in Dalaran.
