The RP Threads

So I was going along looking at the Lore and Roleplaying forums when I noticed that the RP threads had a large amount of views, sometimes more then discussion threads.
My question is this: Do people read the RP threads for fun like the stories posted (example: Light and Death, <3) or is this from the posters in the RP threads? If it is not posters but readers, what draws you to them?
