I think Majne is not talking about exotic pet.
There is a graphic bug (just like the BG naked bug) around that make pet to appear as their not-tamed form.
So basicaly you see them full size, with their untamed name and with the elite dragon around portrait.

What Wildhorn said. Its a bug. owners of the pet dont see it that way. Hell, be glad you didint see an opposite faction hunter roaming around Sunwell Isle with full sized Devilsaur.
