Is this not against the Terms Of Use anyway?

Yes, it's against the ToS...
It often seems that the better raiding Priests are quite good at PVP as well (provided that they have the gear for it.) This is because a good player is open-minded and experimental. He tries new things, he takes what works and dumps or slightly modifies tactics that fail until they work to his satisfcation.
If you're going to start a highly-leveled character with no prior knowledge, I'd suggest you do a ton of research. Wowhead is a great site for learning about spells and whatnot. Read the individual comments for each of the Priest's spells. Yes, research is tedious, but a gang of knowledge will get you far before you play and learn yourself.
Some things you should know before playing:
- Other class's spells, their synergies with and counters against you, their roles, strengths, and weaknesses (important for raiding, essential for PVP)
- What item stats are important for a Priest (spell power, intellect, mp5, etc.)
- The "5 Second Rule"
- The purpose, efficiency, cooldowns, and costs of all your spells (some spells such as Prayer of Mending will be awesome, some such as Mind Soothe are basically worthless)
- Just read the FAQ, you may learn a ton.
PVP is rather unforgiving. I've played since pre-BC and I'm still learning new things at times, especially since I quit several times during TBC and at Nov. 2008 (for a Death Knight) and just recently hit 80 about two weeks ago. If you really want to learn PVP, just ask. I really don't want to go over it if you aren't even interested.

Your best bet at this point is to join Instance groups with people you know (this is sort of vital since the odds of them getting miffed at your mistakes are a bit lower) and then experiment with the different builds suggested in the Stickies.
You've basically skipped the entire "forgiving" stage of the game / class this way, which can be quite a challenge. As an early healer in Instances such as Razorfen, you'll be fine tossing out a Renew every now and then while working on keeping mana use in line and avoiding overheals. Instances at 70 / 80 are no longer all that easy on you, and there are moments where quick decisions on your part will be the only thing saving the group.
Trial and error. Do it in a controlled environment, don't pug unless you're certain you're confident with the basics already or you'll be straight on the way to many peoples' blacklists, which will hurt you a -lot- once you hit 80 and try to gear up for Raids.

Whenever I see someone who admits to buying a high level character (can you spell "eBay"?), I shudder and walk away.
You won't get advice from me, since you've already violated every principle of common sense. Let's take the example of a kid in HS who gets his driver license and then buys a Porshe later that same day. Yep, he bends it around a telephone post before the day is done. Why? Because he didn't learn the fundamental skill-set before going to high power. You've done the very same thing and then have the gumption to admit to doing it (which in of itself is a violation of Blizzard TOS).
Good luck on starting over, but I doubt it'll last long. You'll get bored around level 15-20, jump back on your 70 now that you know how to use the priest (at level 15-20), and then eventually lose interest after getting ground to mush a few times.
Advice: Dump the high level account. Start your own account without any characters pre-existing. Decide what type of character you want to be, then become that character. Learn its strengths, weaknesses and how to best combine it with other classes in groups. In the process you're going to create something unique and be proud of what you've done, rather than trying to ride on the coat tails of what the previous account owner did.
Be unique and proud, or be an eBay player that everyone looks down upon.

Spend time in BG's as you level up to get used to what spells you have, at least there you practicing on people is less detrimental and they're always short on healers anyway.
You can also offer to heal instances you considerably outlevel.
OR
You find some friends that know what's up and are willing to wipe with you as you learn in an instance closer to your level.
Either way:
You should read up on some guides like the one at the priest class mechanics forum on the elitist jerks website.
ProM should always be on cooldown, and everything else is personal playstyle.

Well I did play my priest to 70. It was easy but I am not sure about 1-70 now since there have been a lot of mana changes. Before you just spamed and wanded and walk to next mob by the time you took 10 steps you had 100% mana.
70-80 I still think shadow is THE leveling spec. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, and more practice. Sign up for every dungeon run you can with the LFG interface and then just practice. And practice. And practice. Do your research. Treat this like you're going to go to a raid and learn as much as you possibly can. Talk to other Priests.
See, I have a level 61 Priest and I just started seriously playing her for the first time. In my situation, however, I had participated in the RAF program and since I didn't want to bother levelling up a Priest "for real", she had her levels gifted to her. So far I've participated in about 10 dungeon runs. The first three were tough but since I've had experience playing a Warlock and a Mage, mana management and correct spell selection/rotation began to click for me by the end of the third run and I wasn't always running out on mana. But I'm doing this the hard way: I'm not using Healbot or any similar program. If you've never played a spell caster before, try the Healbot program. Also make sure you use Decursive. That will save you a lot of trouble.

I had Kara gear at 70 and leveled to 80 as holy (although I did a great deal of that with a rogue or a mage). At 80, I continued to do dailies as holy. I now have shadow as my dual-spec and it is *faster* to kill, though not hugely so.
I like healing and am really good at it, so I stayed holy. I don't think it would be difficult to solo level to 80 as holy if you want to so that you can be an awesome healer for instances along the way.
