(Long post but i feel it is necessary) Going to start it out by saying that people in certain situations put too much blame on other classes they cannot kill effectively, seriously there are many ways to beat other classes but people just choose to not spend the time to figure out what such things are.
Small things can change the way a fight turns out such as a 2 second stun or a small fear, an example would be as a warrior in TBC if me and an evenly matched warrior were at low enough health to execute each other I would int shout him to get the execute off before he did.
Another example is if I where matched with a hunter using frost trap I would challenging shout next to his pet (or taunt) then run into the area where I saw him lay the trap, once my character was in the trap the pet would still be under the taunting effect and would attack me therefore letting me out and wasting the hunter's CD, then I would simply intercept and burn him down while all he had left was pretty much scatter shot and wing clip but I am sure things have changed since then, (have not done wotlk much yet) but small tactics like these can definitely help you out if you can find them, my main source: PvP videos
Look into things like engineering which can turn the tables in many fights and sometimes there are awesome non-engineering related trinkets/items you can take advantage of.
I have also seen some crazy sh*t being performed in PvP from mostly old-school classic wow players like Laintime ((lvl 60 warrior THE BEST of the time, don’t care what anyone says, Swifty is also very good)), Grim (60 also very good and manipulative rogue) althought both these characters are out geared than some of there competitors they show amazing skill, Faxmonkey (mage, has quite a few BA videos with pve and pvp manipulation) Swifty (60 warr-must watch :) and Vurtne (the leetest mage in my opinion). These are just some of the videos that are out there and they are very interesting to watch and taught me how to pvp a lot better as well.
And when I first saw these pvp videos they simply blew my mind, just search them on google or youtube and trust me if you have played pre-tbc pvp a lot you will know how skilled these players are and will most likely motivate you quite a bit :) even if you have been playing Wotlk
My advice is watch other PvP movies on your class to. Recognize the movement and process they go through to kill each class and also look out for mistakes they make, doing this will improve your know-how on ways to defeat other players considering you really want to improve. Do a lot of duels to and you will be better at your class in no time, it really is that simple all it takes is trial and error/practice.
Just thought id put something down in this area based on what people have always been saying and that classes they cannot beat are making them angry and therefore they post major complaints on that class or ability via the forums even though sometimes these complaints are valid and something some of the time should be changed.
Hoped this helped out some players and thanks for reading :)

I totally agree! and another thing nobody has mentioned
ENVIRONMENT!
I was dueling a mage a few lvls higher than me so I ran into a two way building (i am pally so i can't vanish) so he kept a blizzard on the front entrance I snuck out the back came around behind him and popped some major burst using trinkets as well as my best moves (gnomish death ray FTW). using the environment as well as common sense and a few key tactics no matter how small can turn the tide of the battle.
I say sticky this forum so that some idiots who come on wowhead to cry about classes being OP will shutup

Druid:
Boomkin knockback
, Cyclone, Roots, Travel Form, Maul face as Feral
It's called typhoon, and it doesn't count. >:(
Another example is if I where matched with a hunter using frost trap I would challenging shout next to his pet (or taunt) then run into the area where I saw him lay the trap, once my character was in the trap the pet would still be under the taunting effect and would attack me therefore letting me out and wasting the hunter's CD
You're thinking freezing trap not frost. Or freezing arrow.

hmm.. i do see a ton of jacknobs @#$%^ing and crying out of frustration. especially about classes/races they can't get down below 40% hp. they don't realize that of course blizzard has a put a way for every class to inteligently kill each class, you just have to figure it out!
speaking of pvp videos.. do you know any notable hunters that i can watch and catch inspiration from? preferably as recent as possible.. thanks!
sorry havent seen many pvp videos latelely on hunters but check Warcraftmovies.com, its one of the best websites to search for specific pvp videos on certain classes, great quality also :) hope that helps
