Warsong tactics?

One of the many tactics I usually do with my Mage is actually quite effective:
1.) Stand on the column over your flag area. Make sure the enemy doesn't see you when he or she enters.
2.) When someone comes running in, immediately jump down, snare/trap them and give out multiple damage until that person is dead. I'm pretty sure the whole team would love you for it!
3.) If you don't kill the flag carrier, chances are that they will die while running for their lives.
One more important note: watch out for Rogues while doing this!
Anyone else have some other Warsong tips/experiences to share?

Well, biggest tip I can give is stay in a group. The team that sticks together and stays in a group usually wins. (don't go chasing everything thats red and lose sight of your teamates.)
Defense can be used, but preferrably I like too see two people max on defense. Rogues and Hunters can do wonders with traps, blinds, cc, etc, to slow the enemy FC down.
I dunno, my pref is to keep the whole 10 people together, capturing and returning the flag.

To check for rogues use rank 1 of arc explosion (if you havent known that already) >.> rank 1 frost nova also is the best choice a lot of mages dont use, it costs way less mana but freezes for the exact same time amount and endures the same dmg break as higher ranks.
In TBC (havent played wotlk yet) you could jump off one of the ledges overlooking the flag room when someone is chasing you and then blink once you jump and you end back at the spot you jumped from when the person on your tail hops down, pretty effective evasive manuever :D
Also if your alone in the flag room and the enemy grabs the flag but has a healer jump down when they are a little away from the flag spot and then jump down and follow until the carrier gets the speed boots then slow down/slowly kill the healer (to prevent her/him from respawning quickly and helping out the carrier again) and odds are the carrier will be out the tunnel already and is pretty vulnerable to everyone.
This usually works best when there are minimal healers on the other team (obviously) but can definitely change the result of the game sometimes

Downranking spells no longer works. Check your mana costs again, Terric.

Don't pick up the flag unless your someone who's not squishy. I hate when I'm about to grab a flag (as a druid, one of the best flag carriers) and someone squishy nabs it, and dies on the run out of base wasting that attempt. The obvious exception is if your by yourself or the teammates accompanying you are even more squishy.

Low level/hp guy grabbing the flag before you? Fantastic! That's the diversion you can use to grab the flag in an empty flag room or at least behind the backs of the defenders when they return it and run out another way.
In your usual PuG, the full group vs full group tactic only works if you seriously outlevel/gear the opposition and have some people who know how to support/heal, or else the game turns into a game of chance. If your group gets beaten by their group in the middle, they score for sure.
It's always good to have at least one on your flagspot, even when your flag isn't there to keep it clear from enemies who would just recap it before you can score and have always someone near the enemy flag, even while your team carries it, so you can grab it again before their defense reorganizes, they can score or just to buy your team some time, when your flag holder died while they are on the way back too.
My favorite loosely organised group setup would be 2 defenders, one that stays and one that is to follow the enemy flag carrier around, an attack team of 2-3 with a hybrid healer and some support/cc abilities and the rest in the the middle, concentrating on controlling the field.
Even if they move as a whole group of ten, when they pass the midfield, you should be able to get their Flag carrier down with 5 since you can focus on him/her, just remember to cc the healers.
Defending might sound boring to many but if the game doesn't degrade into GY camping it can be a thrill keeping your enemies score at 0. Defending our flag with my rogue throughout the 29-49 brackets while leveling my first 60 will always be my favorite PvP experience. But I found great companions on my side and great competitive opponents, that was back in the realm only BG days though, where you really got to know the others.
Good defenders:
Hunters (Radar and the ability to reign death from above in your base and keep FC supporters busy with your pet)
Rogues (get as many on demand speed boosts you can to stick to the enemy FC)
Druids (remember, every spec can track humanoids in cat form)
Good Attackers:
Druids (clearing snares and roots on shapechanging, self healing, speed modifying abilities)
Warriors (use your in combat charges to move around, don't be afraid to charge/stun/slow a follower, get a healer)
Paladins (Great supporters and carriers with high survivability and targeted slow removal, don't bubble a flag carrier! ;) )
Priests (fearbomb from the balcony to clean out any defense, keep the FC/yourself up)
Mages (Good supporters with CC and slows)
Shamans (versatile but have to stop to heal, totems may get stomped, ghost wolf doesn't help against slows but still a good support class from gimmick totems)
