It was probably a prot healer, and the 8 guys were melee without crowd control.
Agree - 'literally' has a tendancy to mean 'overstatedly', and I don't think that any class (other than maybe a tree) has enough healing and the freedom to heal (instant cast vs casting time).

I have actually seen a similar thing done by a pally in orgimmar. Idk what the guy's spec was, but there were 6 people on him of all classes, and he wouldn't die for 5+ min. Idk how he survived so long, but from the way the 6 people were chasing after him, they were all noobs. Not one stuned him. So this because a pally can survive a long time with lots of ppl on him doesn't mean he is really good, it normally means you have alot of ppl who don't know how to play on your side. All it takes is 1 person who knows how to play his toon and 6 who don't to make a show like that. Sadly 2 of the 6 ended up dieing.
Edit: I ended up killing the pally with a silencing shot... the one shot I did while watching, I guess I threw the noobs a bone.

Holy paladins can tank 8 people, and rets can kill furious glad geared people in 1 gcd.
That's what people like to say as excuse for their incompetence.
And btw, paladin is by far the most boring class to level in the beginning.

I thought my pally was fun to lvl in the beginning. Then again I lvled fast so I got additional moves fast. If you know how to lvl though and don't mind doing quests nonstop, then lvling a pally isn't very bad. Also Blood elfs have a nice quest line that gives you an advantage over the mobs, since many are undead, so you can use moves that alliance pallies don't get to use for awhile. Adds some flavor for the Horde pallies, so being a BE pally has more flavor than an alliance pally.

seriously i log in and the mages in my guild start whining about how its not fair they got killed by a retri and then the disc preists start and i try are say anything and im flamed/ shot out of existance by half the guild xD
all i see is people QQing that a pally killed them... they dont complain about arms warriors hamstring-unstoppable-bloodfilled-whirlwind of death or the rogue that just ambushed them for 4k over 14k armour/800resi.
Its just 'AMG pally just judged me for like 12k' (impossible now but they still think it happens)
i mean seriously hunters/mages/rogues have nothing to cry about.
Disc. preists are retarded and ive seen them hitting 8k crits with holy fire and i know they do it quite alot because my friend is constantly laughing down vent about it in arena when he makes a rogue go pop!
O_o ok i just vented but the little story just made me 'grrgrr-angry-grr'
Pally is mega boring to level till 20 =O then you make pretty patterns on the floor! and start pewpewing =D

People that use tools better than others, can often use lesser quality tools to a greater result than you can with a better tool. This means, people good at this game, could have a BS spec, and still kick your scrub ass, becuse they can play the game better than you can. THIS SAYS ZERO ABOUT THE GEAR SPEC OR OTHERWISE.

Quest, at some point though, you need to determine if it's actually because of the user, or because of the tool. The best photographer in the world won't be able to reproduce a better shot than a 'merely good' photographer, if he's only using $%^&y little pocket camera, and the 'good' one is using a professional one. He's got a much better chance given the same equipment, but sometimes the tools really are that much better.
In this case, for this example, I agree, it's not.

shadow preists are arguably weakest in PvP at the moment. the fear/disarm thing is nice but after that your ass is hand to you but i guess thats the same for boomkins you just stand at the back and nuke =/
disc can pull pretty nice dps and heals like crazy they are pretty awesome in PvP imo...
you
can
get away with PvP disc in PvE too just about but its much more mana intensive.
