Old World Raid Attunements

I've searched around but havent been able to come across any definite answer regarding classic raid attunements.
My guild is looking to run the classic raids for fun but many of our members have never done the attunement quests. I've seen different information regarding the attunements. For instance, for MC, I've read that you need to be attuned to use Lathos' (sp?) window port. If you're not attuned you need to use the portal at the end of BRD. Is this true?

yes. bwl still requires you to do ubrs with the quest to get attuned as well.

Run through BRD to the enterance of MC, at level 80 it's really easy, even if you dont have the key since you will hardly aggro any mobs. And pick up the quest item to the left of the MC enterance. Then zone in and out again and you'll be right by the quest turn in. Check for some videos on youtube if you don't know the way.

Once you're done just use the orb for a teleport inside.

the attunments for both are not really hard, so it should take a hour or a little bit mroe to do them both.

As of 3.0.8 no raid instance requires attunement, though still Kara requires at least one member to have the key.
The part about Kara, is not true. You can go under Karazhan over the smiley to get into the raid portal without opening the gate.

You also still need the urn to summon nightbane in kara.
No you don't. My guild did a fun run of Kara with all 80s a couple of weeks ago, and all we did was just hang out on the terrace for a minute or two and all of the sudden here comes Nightbane. This is the reason why the urn is considered a grey quality item now.
Well, actually, there's already an Urn up there.
I'm not exactly sure whether you have to complete the quest to use it...but...
Yeah. The original Urns are worthless now.

Okay, here's the break down, a clean cut solution to the question.
BWL/MC - Attunement NOT needed, however without the attunement you will have to run the instance before it to get to the raid every time. Getting Attuned is recommended.
Onyxia - No attunement. This quest line removed from the game.
Kara - Will need key by 1 person in raid. The urn quest is good for some gold but that's it. There is an urn on the ground in Nightbanes zone that's used to summon him, use able by anyone.

You still need to be at least honored for the heroic BC 5 mans.

You don't need an attunement to enter any of the Vanilla or TBC raids anymore, but having them is quite worth it, especially when it comes to MC and BWL and being able to teleport in. Otherwise, you would have to clear through BRD (for MC) or UBRS (for BWL) to get to the instance portal.
Well without the ring you will not be able to get into UBRS and without that you will not be able to do BWL.
And to be honest i see nothing wrong with making people do a few small quest in dungeons to do raids. Well tbh EoE has a somewhat of an attunement because if no one in the group has killed saphiron you will not be able to summon Malygos down!
