Try to use this tool

Add all your melee and caster items in the right window that you have available or could buy for emblems etc. (also some "healer" items could be better than some obvious looking ele items).
Under "Comparisons" you can click on the slot (example "Head") and then tick everything you want available as choices.
Check "enforce gem requirements" in the left "Stats" window.
Make sure that the correct glyphs are used in the "Talents" tab.
(somehow there's always g. of FT weapon ticked on as enhance)
Enable everything in the "buffs" tab you expect in your raids.
Now run the optimizer under "tools" on top, select something like "sustained DPS rating" and push the slider for "thoroughness" to max.
See what the program suggests as best item combination and gems/enchants for it. It helped me a lot to increase DPS as both ele and enhance.
