i just want to go with whats best. i just hate going the whole fight only so see mongoose proc on the last swing or 2.
As with any proc-based enchant, it will only reach it's full potential on longer fights; otherwise you will have to deal with, like you said, bad timings on the procs. If you plan on soloing a lot i would recomend doing mongoose on one, AP on the other.

Enchants like mongoose and berserker are proc per minute, so it scales with weapon speed.
The slower the weapon, the more often it will proc with instant attacks. Although enchants in offhands only have a 50% chance to proc (at least time i checked), we have LL every 6 seconds and SS every 8 secs which both proc the enchants.

To my knowledge that is untrue and always has been. This is even the first time I've ever heard anybody float the idea that OH procs are diminished.
