I found the good ol’ Shadowfrost spec to be still extremely efficient versus a Retribution Paladin: they simply do not expect us to to stay out of melee and nuke them that hard.
PS: Sure it has been nerfed (quite to the ground) but it's still efficient in BGs.

Well if Mind Freeze connects, for the several seconds that it locks out spells, Bubble can't be used as well. A great way to burn down any pally btw, Mind Freeze locks any and all spells from being casted. :)
Mind Freeze only does a lockout if you hit the person with it while they're casting, and only for that spell school, which Holy is the only one you can lock a Ret out of. God Mode/LoH can still be popped through interrupts/silences too.
Trick is to make them waste their Stun by popping IBF (Hammer of Justice is almost always the first thing they do) and PvP Trinket out of Repentance, and there goes most of there burst damage out the window.
Used to kill Lvl 80 Ret Pallies with a Lvl 79 Undead Blood DK in Savage Saronite Set. Back when Lichborne was worth speccing into, i used to pop Lichborne on purpose just to make them try Turn Evil, then i'd Mind Freeze them to lock them out of their Holy school. If they went to Turn Evil again, i'd break it with WotF. They try it again, i'd just right click off the buff, making them waste time/mana. If i got low on health, i'd use Deathstrikes with Rune Tap. If they got me low on health when Rune Tap was on CD, i'd pop Vampiric Blood, summon a Ghoul, and immediately Death Pact it. I'd eventually wear them through their God Mode and LoH, then kill them.

I've had Ret Pallies pop a God Mode right after i smacked them with a Interrupt/Silence Shield Bash while they were casting Flash of Light.
