Hey :/
its been some time now where whenever i login i have connection issues :/ i cant seem to drop below 800-1000ms apart from nights and if i do i still have the occasional spikes :/
my internet connection is not the best, but it doesnt suck.. i dont know what its speed but as far as i can remember its 1.5mbps (if there is such thing) cause we had 1mbps and we got an offer of upgrading it, dunno to what though :P
anw there are days where yes my internet's server might be full or both of the computers are downloading things and the internet slows down but even if i close all programs and the rest computers i cant seem to drop from 600ms, let aloone in a 25man raid :S
its very stupid, i am no longer able to raid with this connection, let alone do arena :S in my 3v3 we had a 45-11 that we did in one night were i wasnt lagging..the next day we reached 47-26 score :/ its really stupid not being able to play or getting lag spikes all the time
even buffing has a delayment and chat, oh god its very stupid..i tested it through phone and i get their messages instantly but my messages need like 5-10seconds to be send
i talked with my internet provider several times, they send a technician and they didnt find any problem on our line :/ they said it might be a problem of WoW of slowing things but i really doubt it :S many people play this game and not everyone lags, let alone my friend that has a 512kbps internet has 400ms :/ and for example now am logged in ventrilo with a ping of 400 :S i dont know what to do anymore, i tried repairing, restarting and everything :S
am i missing something? any advices?
thx a lot :)

my brother in the other hand, does download things, although this shouldnt be a problem as they told us but just like one episode of his series per day, maximum and thats like 200mb?

There's your problem. If someone on the same internet connection is downloading, everyone that is connected will be slowed down. Tell your brother to download when you're not playing WoW.
as i already stated, there are times that i am &*!@ed and i even close his pc and my internet connection still sucks :S
plus they said the connection is divided in 2, right? so that means we get the same amount connection so we aint affected from each other
anw still, a download shouldnt affect a whole internet connection -_-

Wow.. whom ever told you they knew networking failed.
You have a single connection coming into your house. The switch (a networking device) allows for multiple connections (or a access point (aka, wireless. aka WiFi)). However all information still goes threw the same 1 connection to the house.
If he's using a bit torrent program. Servers and peoples computers are memorizing the fact that you had a connection, have files and at some point existed. This can and will get out of control many times. Even if you are no longer downloading OR uploading the world (anyone out in cyberland) doesn't know your offline. So for hours, days and maybe weeks will continue to try to connect to your house. A single person isnt an issue.
But take tens, of thousands of people... doing it and say good by bandwidth.
Explain how you close his PC. This I must know... because... I'm just lost on this one.

well, our internet providers just suck really >.<
Not an expert in connections so i had to believe them, as hard as it was xD
And yeah i think he is using azureus but why does it try to reconnect with him even if he closes the computer? and if he downloads something he removes it from seeding - being able to get uploaded :S i think he moves it onto his laptop. and btw u mean torrent programs are a huge problem?:/
And i know ppl that used torrent programs on their own pc and they still dont lag :/
Its simple, he is 18 years old, he tends to go out a lot, so some times i put him on standby, close his internet connection or when i am really ----ed i just shut it down from the button or plug it out :P

Torrents can eat up bandwidth really fast. Just because you log off, it doesn't send a signal out to those thousands of people telling them you went away. They remember... and they keep coming back. I had a roommate years ago that would eat up the apartments bandwidth all the time, it gets annoying.
Now some people can run torrents and be just fine.
Because they use better sites, have better service providers and could have better equipment. Luck could also be a factor (sometimes).
