Levelling Northrend is kinda slow'ish. For some reason, getting to 75 seems to take forever. From there on, the pace seems to be picking up a bit.
On top of the Kalu'ak dailies, there are also the cooking dailies in Dalaran you can do. Simple, easy and fast.
I found it more fun to level from 75-76 and upwards. I quested through all of Zul'Drak and a lot of those quests are fun.
At around 77+ you should head north and do your sons of hodir prequests though as you will need to do them anyway for the echants

addons like questhelper will get you running in the right direction. just picked all the quests at a town/camp then run a big circle completing them... kill everything that comes within range while traveling this loop.
the center of borean tundra has the D.H.E.T.A. camp. nice chain quests there, with lots of kill/loot type quests (which give more xp than travel or gather quests... because you kill more stuff while completing them).
when you get to dragonblight, be sure to do the quests for the wanted poster. and when in the snowy valley NE of agmar's hammer, be sure to kill
Icefist
for the item he drops that starts a quest chain (also has lots of group quests).

Get questhelper. That will cut the time spent doing quests down considerably as you will know where to go for just about everything immediately and will eliminate time spent wandering around in circles and on wowhead looking it up.
I did quests on my druid. Completely. It took about six days total to get from 70-80 for me. I started out and leveled to 72 on the first day, level 74 on the second day, 75 on the third, 76-77 on the fourth, 78-79 on the fifth and finished it up on the sixth day. I did not do a single dungeon the entire time but found quests to be enjoyable enough. I suggest setting a goal for yourself:
"We will get a level a day." or "Let's finish up this zone today!"
For the most part, each zone will be worth 2.5 levels, sometimes 3 if drop quests take awhile.
On my hunter, I did it considerably different. I still followed the same basic leveling requirements (1/day, sometimes 2) but added in dungeons when I had a significant amount of rested xp. Most mobs in lower leveled dungeons will give you close to 2k rested xp and bosses will give you upwards of 6k. It is very easy to get a couple quests-worth of experience by simply running AN, Nexus or UK in the earlier levels.
It's all about setting a goal for yourselves and following through with them.

For 70-80, I played a considerable amount of time in order to achieve the goals I set for myself. It also helped that, at the time, I was not in school and unemployed. I believe it was 5-6 hours a day with breaks in between.
