Dumb auction prices

I saw a bunch of Netherweave cloth posted on the auction house at the vendor rate. Why would someone want to lose money with an auction deposit when they can sell it cleanly for the vendor price?

During BC I used to always buy out stacks of netherweave for an average of 2g50s and turn them into bandages that vendor for 3g.
Anymore I notice people posting stacks of saronite bars for less then 25g per stack, it boggles the mind while making my pockets fatter.
Regular or heavy?

Heavy Netherweave Bandages
-used-
to sell for 3g a stack, meaning a small but regular cash flow could easily be made by buying netherweave, clicking 'create all' and going afk for 5 minutes.
This was changed in 3.0... ah well.

People are stupid, if you aren't, good use this fact to profit. Don't try to explain them that they are stupid, let them live in ignorance.
Fo the sake of easy gold.

So let me understand this correctly....
the poster is upset because people are putting netherweave cloth on the AH for a fraction of the regular price?
Hell, if that is the case, let me know who the seller is and what server and I'll gladly snatch all that up so I can make profit off of it.
What is REALLY more annoying is people who don't put actually put a buyout price.
Thank you.

A man after my own heart.
But yeah, I used to regularly buy out all the Netherweave on the market (2g per stack) and turn it into Netherweave Bags and resell them for 8-15g a piece. Seeing as 1 stack of Netherweave = 1 bag, I could make a 380%+ Profit for going AFK for a few minutes while it makes the bags. (I say 380% because of the price of Thread)

OMG! I did the same thing. I thought I was the ONLY one who did that, haha. Ahh, how I love when I saw in the trade channel... someone selling stacks and stacks of Netherweave for 2g or less... ^_^

After I update Auctioneer, Vendor is always the fiirst search I do. I have yet to play a day without profiting from this. Newer players usually don't know about add-ons, and pick random prices for their goods.
Hey, effortless gold is a gift. Take it.

Along a similar line of questioning: Why do people buy things at AH for MORE than they cost from a vendor? I've been making steady gold selling a few really common items (vendor sold) for an increased price...is there something I just don't get? Either way its a nice steady and easy income.
Simple. Because people are lazy.

Ah, thats a classic all though profits are not quite as big on my server. 3g for a stack of netherweave and 7-8g for a finished bag, it's still a nice profit for watching TV and walking the dog.
What I don't get is why people keep selling cheap Frostweave bags. If you add up the cloth, dust and thread needed on my server you get a cost price of 115-125g, yet people sell the bags for 65g. I understand if it's for training skill, but there are 3-4 guys selling frostweave bags week after week. My guess is that they grinded the mats themself and consider it free, making a bag a 65g profit. But I can't start to grasp why they don't just sell the mats for a 115-125g profit instead?

Gonna have to try this out one day:
1) Make a fresh toon on a realm you haven't been on before.
2) Get a few silver through begging or questing, being careful not to ding more than level 5.
3) Pick up enchanting, tailoring, cooking and first aid.
3) Use the Auction House to:
Buy cloth and sell the bolts while leveling up tailoring.
Buy cloth and sell the bandages while leveling up first aid.
Buy cloth, make clothes, disenchant and sell the enchanting materials while leveling enchanting.
Guaranteed that I can make 50g in a short amount of time by bidding into people's lazyness and stupidity.
