After all, most dealers will sell you rat poison and laundry detergent with a tiny bit of drug mixed in if they can manage it, the quality of illicit substances right now is hardly impressive.
Yeah....that's just not true. At ALL. At least for pot. And at least in America. Idk where you live, but you either don't know what you're talking about or you live in a horrible, horrible, neighborhood.

Thats why the tobacco companies need to express interest in getting their own hands in on it. If they are all in I guarantee the government is all in
I don't think the fundie far-right would be because of religious reasons.Where in the Bible does it say "Thou shalt not smoke of the happy plant."?

Nowhere that I know of, but what's that to stop them?

Oh, it'll be brought up every time. No doubt about it. Is there justification? Not at all. Skewed morals seem to lead (most) to believe that if they think they shouldn't like it, God doesn't like it, and then there goes the propaganda about how smoking weed is a sin.

For my church, we really do think it's a sin (It's in our scripture). For all the other churches though, I don't think there's anywhere in the Bible talking about drugs of any sort.

Do you know why this is? Is it because it's something most people view as "wrong"? What is your personal stance on it? Do you agree that it's morally wrong?

10 And again, verily I say unto you, all wholesome herbs God hath ordained for the constitution, nature, and use of man—
Basically, any wholesome herb (medicine, various culinary herbs, etc) are ok, but any non-wholesome herbs are not. Thus, Marijuana, Opium etc are all bad.
What is my stance on it? Well, I highly dislike any harmful drugs, including tobacco and alcohol, but seeing as how keeping it illegal is doing nobody any good, it should be legalized, regulated and taxed.
I do think it's morally wrong, and I think people shouldn't use it, but it's your choice and I'm not going to begrudge you that.

It's still not clear whether or not you could consider Marijuana non-wholesome, as it can be used it medicine and be put in Brownies (culinary?), and if it's actually harmful.

If I'm not mistaken, on the topic of religion and drugs, there are passages in the Bible that warn against polluting your body with things.
16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Things like that.

I have yet to see
any
proof that marijuana does
anything
besides act as a placebo.
Also, my church has defined it as harmful. Thus, we believe it is harmful. Modern revelation is awesome.

From your link:
* nausea, especially in combination with alcohol, some pharmaceuticals, or other psychoactives
* coughing, asthma, upper respiratory problems
* difficulty with short-term memory during effects and during periods of frequent use
* racing heart, agitation, feeling tense
* mild to severe anxiety
* panic attacks in sensitive users or with very high doses (oral use increases risk of getting too much)
* headaches
* dizziness, confusion
* lightheadedness or fainting (in cases of lowered blood pressure)
* paranoid & anxious thoughts more frequent
* possible psychological dependence on cannabis
* clumsiness, loss of coordination at high doses
* can precipitate or exacerbate latent or existing mental disorders
Did you say it did nothing wrong?

There are risks when you do anything.
Especially if it isn't designed to be in you.
There are also articles further down the page that refute most of them.

As long as you're paying a researcher, they'll say anything you want. The question is how good is their research.
Of course there are risks, and like anything, there are some pretty crappy side effects. Not making a point on whether it's worth it or not, just saying that you can't argue that it does nothing wrong.

maybe i should swap the word "nothing" for "much"
