The people who are doing this are stupid. They are most likely the kids who got out first or hurt themselves while playing a sport. And I think that they should just have art and sports, if Obamas stimulus goes to their schol they can afford at least a teacher who knows art.
Sarcasm I'm guessing? School in my mind should be math, science, and grammar, with maybe some history thrown into the mix (but just general history, NO ONE CARES WHEN WASHINGTON TOOK A DUMP).
PE classes are just a way to employ the idiots who played sports in school but weren't good enough to get on a team and were too dumb to do get a real job. And its a self-sustaining cycle at this point; dumb kids think that athletics is an acceptable career path, suck, and then become PE teachers and teach more dumb kids the same thing.

... what?
Teaching kids how to throw a ball contributes to society.
I wasn't made for sports, though I think P.E. is probably up there with Sex Education in terms of importance.
Not really, sex education is actually mildly important, you don't want your society falling apart because everyone has AIDS.

Obesity kills, too. Obesity and related deaths far outnumber AIDS related deaths in the U.S. Sex Ed. and P.E. are both pointless when it comes to academics and suceeding in the job market, but they're both important for life in general.
Yes, obesity kills. PE does not stop Obesity however, and although Sex Ed doesn't stop people from getting STDs, it has much more on a contribution than PE does. I suppose you could say yes, neither help you succeed in the job market, but one is entirely worthless for the majority of people, and one teaches you common sense you might not pick up elsewhere (The pope tells people that condoms contribute to the spread of AIDS, so you can imagine why one would think that the average person is relatively uneducated in that area)

P.E. is not only important physically, it is also mentally healthy. Since P.E. is looked forward to by most kids, it'll be one of the few classes during the week one can relieve stress in, just go around and have fun without worrying about your SATs and memorizing equations and formulas. Without classes like Physical Education, there'll be approx. 3 more periods a week where kids will be stuffing their head with calculus that 99.99% of them will never get to use in real-life situations as opposed to having fun.
Recess for kids in elementary school is there. Beyond that, maybe kids should consider that school isn't about having fun, its about learning so you don't end up as a PE teacher.

I personally hate contact sports, as I have a rather weak build, and a large guy tackling me can be rather painfully. If I can avoid playing a contact sport, I do.
With that being said, I think whoever decided to ban them completely is an utter moron.

Go diaf. School isn't fun when you have teachers who are cold, heartless bastards that don't believe school should be fun (A.K.A., 97% of teachers). Personally, I think that's why so many kids are sucking it up in school; The educational system seems to suck just as much.
Although, on a side note, I gotta agree with you on the P.E teacher thing.
Sorry if I'm getting off-topic. That was a rant moment.
