Yo Dawg I heard you like WoW so we put WoW ads in your WoW website so you can buy WoW while you play WoW
Oh wait...

Hah, clever. I was just thinking that maybe you could find some ads that suited more like... emm.. what was the name of the game again... WoW?
Why would you advertise WoW related ads to a site that has the majority of people who already have WoW?
Why would you advertise WAR related ads to a site that has the majority of people playing WoW?
Because of the two, something people don't already own is likely to get more sales.

We had a site skin ad on the front page for 3D monitors, and there was a 10 page thread telling us that we were horrible people for running it.
Don't get me wrong, it was an ugly skin. But we kinda can't do anything right here, you know?

It's not a decoration, it's an advertisement. Kind of like the one that's running on
Gamespot
right now.
These are how we pay the bills, guys. I prefer them to banner ads—they're more secure, and they hog less CPU power. :)
I then wonder why the adconion and toefl banners are still there... *whistles* - anyway, I do not blame you Malgayne or the wowhead team, knowing that in the end it is the decision of some crazed, $$$-greedy ZAM corporate that only wants to see the balance with + at the end of the year and doesn't know or give a sh*t about gaming...

I understand you can't edit the image... But is it hard to shuffle it? Just a thought because as I said earlier, it's hard to click some of the links on a fullscreen setup:
http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/9317/moveplease.jpg
I'd show the image here, but it'll break the page... So yea... Running three monitors, I have my righthand my browser page, and being fullscreen, the image basically runs right through the text, making it not only hard to read, but insanely hard to click. For some users, it may even drive them insane. If you can shuffle it, that would totally rock. If not, I understand.
Constructive thought. Don't hurt me. >.>

Nice, there's even a typo. A pretty dumb typo at that.
"The Killer PVP Experince"
Wowhead! How can you support bad spelling! You should totally take that ad down, unless you want people to think you support bad spelling.

Ugliest and -imho- stupidest idea I've ever seen on this website. You run the business so it's your decision. You know what? I would prefer
paying a fee to your site
(*) rather than watching this stuff.
(*) Did you already offer a paypal-like subscription? Something like "you send us some dollars and you stop watching ads and get some more benefits, such as "member messages", "mailbox" and more?
I would be
VERY VERY VERY GLAD to pay
you some real money. You deserve it, WowHead is the top of the top when it cames to wow-related informations.

While I understand Wowhead needs money, there
has
to be a better way of doing it. I was actually shocked to see the ad, and wondered wth was going on. Was wowhead sold or something?
That's the problem with such ads. You "@#$% off" some people for the sake of making money.
I just hope this horrible thing disappears as soon as possible. :'(

Pay the bills? Wow head team how far in advance have you thought this out. If you advertise for Warhammer on a World of Warcraft Database website and people play war and sign up then....they stop coming to a wow db website....
By doing this you are in a sense killing your traffic. For the Pizza Hut reverence this would be like putting a huge Domino's Banner at the front door to Pizza Hut, does that sound like good marketing to you? Does that sound like something pizza hut would allow?

|___That.
This one was a ver bad bad bad move in terms of pure marketing. And that spelling error "experince" makes you look like you do not care at all about what your're advertising.

That's not being fair. The president of ZAM Corporate is Jeff Moyer, the guy who founded and built Allakhazam.com 10 years ago. We're all trying to pick ads that are topical and relevant. We're talking with lots of different people, Blizzard among them.
If you're going to switch to using a different database site because we showed an ad for Warhammer for a couple of days—if that ad is more important to you than the hundreds of hours of work we've put in to making this the best damn WoW site in the world, then I don't think there's anything we can do to make you stay.
And who knows, maybe you'll even like the game? Even Ghostcrawler is
encouraging WoW players to try other games
.
I'm sorry if you're not happy with this. If nothing else it won't be here long—and the ad-free Wowhead subscription is being worked on on a daily basis.

By Pizza Hut advertising for Dominos, they would lose sales to Dominos, because people would only eat one pizza. WAR advertising on another MMO's site doesn't take away sales from that MMO. fyi, you're allowed to play more than one MMO at the same time.
