I lol'd when I saw your comment correcting the person calling it The Iron Council >.<
I looked at nearly every other item dropped from AoI, and everyone says "Drops from Iron Council" (or a variation thereof).
Every. single. one.
It's the
Assembly of
freaking
Iron
, people! It was only called Iron Council for a few days on the PTR, why is it stuck in your brains?

For moonkins (i'll assume it works the same for warlocks thanks to the equivalent talent Ruin), CSD ends up as giving you 209% of your normal damage on crits, instead of just 200%. More details can be found on EJ or on the BC equivalent meta-gem, but basically the logic is the following :
150% x 1.03 = 154.5% (Total damage from a crit with this gem but without ruin)
154.5% - 100% = 54.5% (Bonus damage from a crit with this gem but without ruin)
54.5% X 2 = 109% (bonus damage with ruin and gem)
100%+109% = 209% (damage done by a critical with gem and ruin)
Doesn't sound the most logical thing but the main point is that this logic agrees with the empirical evidence.
As Gorefiend says, the +crit on the gem is just there for decoration for most specs (ie it's a very small increase). The interresting part is that you gain a free ~X/10 damage for each crit on spells that normally hit for X, which is a massive increase for crit heavy classes.

Nice summary.
The current enchant to use with staves is the same as for 1H weapons, +63 SP, though as you say there are proposed staff enchants on the PTR with more +SP.
For staves theres an "
enchant staff +81sp
" .. Why not use that
EDIT i just realised i quoted a post from page 1.....

Kel’Thuzad’s Shoulderpadsof Triumph
/
Gul’dan’s Shoulderpadsof Triumph
(25-Man Heroic TotC, Regalia of the Grand Conqueror)Small spelling error right there.
I'll proof-read the rest once it starts to become complete and Wowhead has more items uploaded.

Felspark Bracers
/
Felspark Bindings
definitely look like an upgrade over
Bracers of Unleashed Magic
. They should probably take their place on the list of bracers.
Shoulders:
Kel’Thuzad’s
Shoulderpadsof
Triumph
/
Gul’dan’s Shoulderpads of Triumph
(25-Man Heroic TotC, Regalia of the Grand Conqueror)
Still a typo there.

I'd be interested in seeing a few more options, particularly in the ring slot, where the top slots are filled with Hit items. With rings, you basically only mentioned the top two rings without Hit, which doesn't leave a lot of options if you need no hit from either ring slot.
Currently, wands are also somewhat in that boat. From a pure numbers standpoint and in a vacuum, the Gemmed Wand of the Nerubians may indeed be 3rd best... but any sane Warlock would ditch it in favor of a higher ilvl wand and slot a hit gem (or better yet, two hybrid sp/hit gems) into their gear to make up for the "lost" hit.
Lastly, given the nature of Heroic and "Regular" versions of nearly-identical gear, it may be good to expand the lists further than five slots. Again, more options would be nice to see.
This post is truly amazing though, and extremely helpful. I hope my commentary doesn't give a bad impression, as the work that has been done here is simply awesome.

I had a question about Wrist slot.
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47586
Would it be worth it? With the socket and the massive Haste/Crit already on it and if you were Hit capped, would it be a higher priority?

Chest:
Skyweaver Robes
/
Skyweave Vestments
(25-Man Heroic TotC, Twin Valkyrs)
Kel’Thuzad’s Robe of Triumph
/
Gul’dan’s Robe of Triumph
(25-Man Heroic TotC, Regalia of the Grand Conqueror)
Skyweaver Robes
/
Skyweave Vestments
(25-Man
Heroic
TotC, Twin Valkyrs)
Incorrect there.

This might be a noob question, but why is Chaotic Skyflare Diamond the preferred meta gem for Affliction over something like Ember Skyflare Diamond?Read just a few posts above yours.

Thank you for the guide,
One thihng I noted though you dont advise to use
Potent Ametrine
for destro/demo guys that are hit capped.
Any reason? Stacking too much crit is a waste perhaps?
I reworkign my lock with new gems and want to be sure :)
thx
